I'm not gonna listen to the album, because Christian music just ain't my thing, but...

๐˜‹๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฏ, girl!

Now, moderate and progressive Christians, I want you to take notes. Pay attention.

๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด is the kind of thing we want to see more of from you. This is ๐˜ฆ๐˜น๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜บ the energy we want you to carry with you to the ballot box on election day, when you'll be voting for whether or not the performer you just showed so much love for is allowed to keep performing- or to keep existing. If you can vote for an album to show your support for a Queen, but don't follow through by voting for a politician who's going to protect her rights, then this was a meaningless gesture.

All you have to do is remember what made you press ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด button when it comes time to press ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต button.

Not my thing either but the Drag Queen video was impressive. Kudos to the make up artist who was working while Webb was singing.

They won't though. As reprehensible as feucht is, he says out loud what christians actually think.

Whether they admit it or not, progressive christians know they need evangelicals in power to do the wetwork required to keep their self-righteous hate cult in it's comfy position of dominance.

They'll never risk losing that power They just pay lip service to democracy and humanity so they don't get hit with the stigma. And they don't have the guts to be honest about what they are. That, and they don't want to get off their asses and do the dirty work themselves.

I disagree. I think most mainstream/progressive Christians don't desire dominance. Instead they want separation of Church and State. Scopes, Kitzmiller, Schempp (both the dad and kid), Epperson, one of the Engel plaintiffs...all Christians. Practically all of our church-state separation case law is based on Christian and Jewish plaintiffs bringing suits against Christian dominionists. Everyone likes to mention O'Hare's contribution in getting prayer out of schools, but that was the exception, not the rule.

As Joan says, it's a matter of activism/energy, not specifically belief in Jesus. The conservative Christians are louder and put more effort into politics, legislation, publicity etc. than the liberal Christians.

If that was the case, bigotry wouldn't be Christianity's core tenet.

And the fact that the fuckers can't be fucking bothered to actually do anything about their fascist brothers and sisters in Christ, and instead spend all their time No True Scotsman-ing anyone who DARES level the most basic and gentle criticism of Christianity says everything.

There are Christians who actually care and try to pump the brakes, but in the US? They don't even break triple digits. They might If you include the entire continent, but in the US I doubt there's more than three dozen.

Well, despite my feelings about country music in general, it does seem to be a well made album from what I could hear. Congrats to Flamy Grant for breaking new ground on this one!

Feucht's opinion isn't nearly as relevant as he'd like to think, and that's good news for everyone. I'm just hoping that this means more Christians are willing to take a peek outside their bubble sometimes. The bubble is, after all, a very limiting and lonely place to be, it'd be nice for folks to join the rest of us sometime soon.

I really dislike neighbors who donโ€™t consider their neighbors when playing music late at night.

Tonight is our townโ€™s little summer festival and my hubs is doing concessions for tonightโ€™s concert. We live very close to the park and we listen to the music in our beds every year. Knowing itโ€™s a regular thing makes it easier to deal with.
