Economy falling apart? Doesn't matter, put up goddy-signs. Infrastructure crumbling? Doesn't matter, put up goddy-signs. Climate change eating your coastline? Doesn't matter, goddy-signs. Another pandemic? More goddy-signs! Youth mental health crisis? Goddy-signs!

Conservative Christians can never stop trying to mark their territory in the public schools, paid for with everyone's tax dollars. Do the people who passed this idiotic law think it's actually going to make better citizens out of these kids? The great irony here is that the harder the evangelicals try to accomplish through the courts and legislatures what they failed to achieve from their pulpits, the more people they alienate.

Christians don't trust their god. That's just it. They're constantly thwarting his will and disobeying him. They certainly don't trust in the guy they refer to as their savior. They continually ignore his teachings.

IGWT is a monumental joke.

It is so great that Louisiana has no other educational issues to deal with that they can spend all this time, energy, and money (not all posters are donated) on this useless trash. There aren’t hungry children requiring free and reduced lunches or breakfasts in the state. No problems hiring and retaining quality teachers and paying them log wages. No problems accessing textbooks and technology to educate the students. The buildings are all up to code and functioning properly. And clean. Children requiring additional support have everything they need to succeed. Never mind the likelihood of a school shooting happening.

No? Well, stick a poster over it, that fix it. Legislators need to be held accountable. This isn’t governing, it’s pandering and navel gazing with a side of power grabbing. I really do not understand the Republican voter. The GOP, nationally and locally, actively opposes policies that are popular with all voters, intentionally legislates policies that hurt their base, but if they say they hate the right people the republican voters go all in. Maybe I do understand them, their bigotry overrides their own needs, but I don’t want to be that cynical.

Louisiana. Ranked dead last Overall as "Best State to Live In."

Also dead last in both Economy and Crimes and Corrections. 49th in both Infrastructure and Natural Environment. 48th in Opportunity, 46th in Education. 45th in Healthcare. A "bright spot?" 38th in Fiscal Stability.

Little wonder Lousyanans are trusting in an invisible, imaginary sky pixie. Because nobody on the ground there has a clue on what to do.

I kinda feel like these signs should have a 'some limits, terms, conditions and exclusions apply' disclaimer on them. Seems only fair, since their god just doesn't appear to take everyone regardless of their color, gender, nationality, preference, etc.

If Louisianans have trouble with IGWT being in Arabic, then I'm sure they'll forego using 0 - 9 in their everyday lives, as those are Arabic numerals.

Louisiana by every metric is arguably the worst place in America to live. I was stationed there in my Army years. You couldn't pay me to go back there.

This is the kind of "IN YOUR FACE!" action which may be necessary to get evangelicals and Christian Nationalists to realize that, maybe just maybe, their efforts may be pissing into the wind in the long haul. It also demonstrates their thoughtlessness and tendency toward assumptions in how this ill-conceived law was written. I would hope that the sponsors and supporters might actually recognize that there is opposition to their efforts, and that said opposition has a foundation in the Constitution which their law lacks.

I won't bet the farm on that, though.

That "Satan" in the background in one image looks a lot like Hellboy to me.

OT: The Proud Boys, sans their incarcerated leaders, appear to be on an anti-LGBT crusade now. Let's hope a lot more of them end up taking residence in the ol' Graybar Hotel. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/07/lgbtq-violence-protest-glendale-unified-school-district

OT: Moms for Liberty has been labeled an “anti-government extremist” group by the SPLC. I think they're the ones who have been causing all sorts of problems in our libraries here. The local Unitarian church hosted a Town Hall meeting last week to discuss the possible upcoming changes to school policies. I wanted to go, but wasn't able. I haven't heard anything about what actually went on, but I did hear a lot more people than they were expecting showed up, mostly supportive.

Chaz Stevens can also make some historical posters in French and American Natives tribes living in Louisiana if they still have their languages.

By the way does the law says that the text must be written from left to right ?
