Well we obviously need a Baptist Prayer App as Catholics are not really Christians.

What rock did you crawl out from under. I was a Baptist at one time and we prayed alot of the prayers we pray in the the Catholic church. Baptist have always been dogmatic about there religion. We all want to go to heaven and we all pray to the same God, no matter what religion you are. Your remarks about Catholics not being Christians is the most stupid I have ever heard.

Carol, my comment was a sarcastic reference to the many evangelicals and other protestants who do not think the Roman Catholic Church is christianity. note the /s

As a white woman raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, the first time I experienced bigotry is when I moved south and told people I was Catholic. Some looked at me as if I'd grown horns right in front of them. :D

Trying to determine who was, or was not, a TRUE Christian kept Europe soaked in blood for centuries. The American founders knew their European history and did not give religion any role to play in their new government. Nothing divides people more effectively and unnecessarily than religion.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." - Matthew 6:5-8 NIV

How is this different from any other Fox News segment? This is just more transparent in being propaganda, by exposing the source of the money up front. All the other “news” Fox reports on is paid for by special interests to be reported with a particular spin. Has been since the inception of Fox. Evidenced by the lawsuits by the reporters against the company, the mentions that they aren’t the only news organization making the claims, and just Fucker Carlson in general.

I’m sure the viewers were relieved to have it laid out so clearly so they don’t have to fight the cognitive dissonance.

What does this app do that should cost that much money to use? I mean, shitty politicians put daily prayers on their social media all the time, so if you need a daily prayer you can follow one of them. Or really any number of daily prayer apps, televangelists, or other “influencers”. What does this app provide that these other platforms don’t? And is worth spending your hard earned money on?

I wonder if the cost for the app is tax deductible like tithing.

When I was in basic training he was filming a movie at the post, so I ran into him a few times at chow time. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about it before, the movie was Renaissance Man with Gregory Hines, Danny DeVito, Mark Wahlberg, Kadeem Hardison. Anyway, I wasn’t impressed with Wahlberg then, but still he was a celebrity. There was a time when I started to respect him a bit, but then I found out about his criminal history and I cannot abide that, and he’s never really shown remorse or, to steal from the religious, repentance. He’s Uber religious but not a very good person. Sounds about right for someone associated with an app like this.

They filmed us normies sometimes, but I never saw myself in the final movie.

The best story from the experience for me was the first day of basic, we had just gotten our uniforms and were sitting on these benches waiting to do individual paperwork. When a big gaggle of people come into the room, revolving around one person, Penny Marshall. There were some big brass and some small brass in the crowd. Anyway all of us cruits were Star struck and whispering amongst ourselves about what was going on. Then a lieutenant walks up to address the group (I thought) and asked us where our drill sergeant was. I last saw her behind the benches, so I turned my body to confirm that she was no longer there (because why would he ask if she was standing there), as I turned I uttered an “um”. Well, that was the wrong answer apparently. That lieutenant lost his shit on me, told me to stand up and address him as “sir” and just tore me a new one. He went on for a bit, getting nastier and nastier. Eventually, he tired himself out and went back to the group with Ms. Marshall. We all figured out that he was putting on a show for her to see what a dressing down from a drill sergeant might look like, and I think he was trying to make me cry (I did not). After that, the group left the room and we all got back to getting processed into the Army.

Later during training, I had a short chat with Kadeem Hardison in line at the chow hall. And one time Marky Mark noticed some girls getting excited he was in the chow hall with us, so he walked up to them and sat down. Gregory Hines actually grabbed him and moved him to another table (Hines was playing a drill sergeant so it was part of his practice for the movie. And while the facility was coed, we weren’t allowed to mingle at the time. Also, ours was the last class to be segregated by gender.). When Mark was finished eating, he had to do push-ups outside the chow hall door, so I made snide remarks about his ego as I passed. I might have joked about stepping on his fingers, but then, I’m petty sometimes.
