Good thing computer repair shops aren't covered by the seal of the confessional.

This is rare, hearing about a Catholic priest committing sex crimes against adults rather than children.

It seems like that should make me feel better, but it really doesn't.

Seems to me that the clergy attracts sexual predators of all kinds. It provides easy access to a large supply of potential victims, and there is a system in place that usually protects them from the law at the expense of their victims.

And people trust them enough to let them into their homes, and to let them have access to the children without supervision. It's the ideal job for a sexual predator.

They'll abuse children, they'll abuse adults, they'll abuse heathen and believer alike, they'll abuse the rich and the poor, the weak and the strong, men and women, fellow clergy as well as laity... turns out the RCC believes in equality after all- they're equally willing to abuse *absolutely fucking everybody.*

I have a joke in poor taste and it’s applicable here.

Have you heard the one about the gas lighter?

It is what they mean by "All are Welcome".

All are....well....come.

A little-known fact about sexual abuse of both adults and children by RCC clergy is that is has been documented as far back as the 11th Century:

The only thing I'm shocked about is that they weren't minors this time.

That's why he photographed their driver's license in the picture I think.

Only one count of sexual battery? It's good he's been arrested, but it seems like they're softballing the charges.

Joan the Dork's avatar

The prosecutor might be keeping a few potential charges in their back pocket, just in case- or that might just be wishful thinking.

People like this are obviously too unsophisticated to cope with computers. They should realise that what's on the hard drive isn't deleted when you press delete. That's assuming he actually made an attempt to delete it, and if he didn't he is totally stupid. And of course that's a good thing, because he got caught. Hardly a criminal mastermind.

New house is coming along. I now have socks. Still no underwear, having to wear running shorts with built in underwear. Luckily it's summer.

OT

Peaceful Solstice to everyone. Looks like FA is going to be quiet today, so I'll go see "Matrix Resurrections." Certainly a far-more believable resurrection than that other one Christians go on and on about.

On the positive side, no women were involved...wait, could that be construed as offensive and misogynistic?
