Once again, the TST is making Christian parents choke on their BBQ ... or whatever it is they go for in the Volunteer State. At least in this instance, we have adults who can be bothered to recognize that everything here is according to Hoyle, cards-face-up and by the book ... and of course, they STILL freak out because of the "S" word.

I have a thought for those parents: why not sit in on a session or two and discover JUST WHAT IT IS an After School Satan club does! Oh, but they won't do the same things in front of us, the parents will say. [smh] ♫♪ Paranoia strikes deep. / Into your life it will creep. / It starts when you're always afraid... ♪♫

Wow! Now these Christian’s are getting a taste of their own medicine and it makes them uncomfortable to say the least. Karmas a bitch!

That said, if heaven is filled with these self-righteous religious fanatics, then hell is starting to sound pretty appetizing to me; even though I don’t personally subscribe to any of these fantastical tales better left for five year olds and those so diffident about themselves that they need a crutch for support.

Bottom line: Christian’s engage in conversion therapy; have tried to destroy trans kids rights by saying they are only protecting the children for their own good; yet have no problem unleashing sexual predator preachers and priests onto their own flock.

Christian men and boys who engage incest should be treated with respect since the patriarchy allows men to be men, and sheep to be scared.

Is it lost on anyone that these same religious fanatics almost put a pedophile into the senate in Alabama; Moore lost by only 20k votes out of almost 1.8 million cast. These same zealots continue to support a rapist and kleptocrat for president, regardless of his lies and corruption and incompetence; he puts good, god fearing judges on the bench.

And yet it’s the satanic church that we should be worried about? How rich!...:)

It's so infuriating to me to see how a large percentage by far of Christians (especially in the US and especially in rural areas) are so centered on needing to fight against some imaginary enemy other that they literally can't be bothered to do the minimal amount of research any decent Wikipedia entry could provide. Just because their pastor at their church learned at their barely accredited Bible college that there is a supernatural villain and the name it goes by is Satan and Satan is the president for eternity of Hell or whatever they lack the will to actually ask for themselves if anything labeled as something scary might actually be the opposite of controversial and the opposite of evil. The irony of these same people having a lot more in common with I.S.I.L. and their slaughter and subjugation of the Yazidi people (for being...devil worshippers) than with the American values they claim to be protecting never stops pissing me off.

Just read an applicable essay on satire, which said in part:

“satire is actually very subtle. Which is why it is always lost on some. Satire relies on those readers/viewers/listeners who will discern its coded message. On those who get the joke and can correctly identify the punch line’s actual target. However, such people are often a minority. Many are apt to take the story and the characters literally. In doing so, they will miss the critique, mistaking it for overt approval or even a celebration of that which is being criticized. In this way, satire is like a fully developed, complex, and subtle version of sarcasm: if you miss the statement’s unstated intention, you’re going to take it exactly the wrong way. Satire is always lost on literalists who miss the critique embedded in the jokes, who do not recognize that it is cutting against the grain.”

Akim Reinhardt, “Satire in the Age of Outrage.”

These folks deserve every bit of derision directed at them. But people not getting the point of a satirical provocation is pretty common. People are dumb.

These conservative Christians know beyond doubt the After-School Satan Club would harm children, and yet they would be hard-pressed to demonstrate how their religion ever made the world a better place. They are terrified of the effects critical thinking might have on their children. It speaks directly to how little confidence they have in their own message.

Some nitwhit posted a comment on the yahoo story about this ranting and raving about how 'Satin' is taking over the USA and we must all fight against 'Satin'. He spelled it that way about 5 times in his rant...

I replied that I would pray to the great lord that he would release a teacher from the pit to give him a spelling lesson...

““We cannot allow any entity called Satanic Temple to have private time with our children,” Adkins said. “I can’t go into the school building and pray. But yet we can rent a facility to the Satanic Temple and they can give a party for children. It’s ridiculous. It’s absurd.””

I bet he has no issue allowing Catholic priests, youth pastors, and other clergy private time with the students. And I’m not talking about the blatantly unconstitutional indoctrination they would be doing. That’s the least of my worries when clergy try to spend time alone with children.

The ASS club will not likely be alone with children, anymore than the GNC or any other club. TST are not the ones with the reputation of grooming and molesting, but they’re the ones you’re concerned about. You’re scared the kids will learn to think critically and see through the lies your religion is based on. Too damn bad.

Why does religious kook think the club has “private time” with their kids? The club isn’t be held in a secret undisclosed location is it? I found that phrase creepy.

“I can’t go into the school building and pray." - Yes you can. I'm sure Good News Clubs do.

"But yet we can rent a facility to the Satanic Temple and they can give a party for children." - The horror! Party on.

There is precedence for changing an organization's name. A long time ago the Every Day Pedo Club changed its name to The Catholic Church.

Makes me laugh when cristers whine about a being that, according to their so-called sacred text, was created by their own god.

I like to inform believers of that fact and then ask them: "Is your god truly all-powerful? Then why can't he rid the world of Satan, who appears more powerful than him? Is your god all-knowing? Then why did he ever create Satan to begin with?"

I get a lot of Tucker Carlson blank stares when I ask them those things.

ADKINS: "They tricked us!"

Your whole religion is a con, pastor. You've been tricking your flock and are exhorting them to buy into the con every Sunday. And hey, if you make money off the deal? All the better, am I right?
