Few things ever demonstrated the disconnect between religion and morality quite like the evangelicals pledging their unconditional love for the most grotesquely immoral President in our history. I classify evangelicals as delusional by definition, and their expectation Donald Trump would reward their misguided loyalty by allowing them to participate in government was as delusional as it gets. Trump neither shares his toys nor plays well with others. Donald Trump played the preachers for the fools they are.

And THAT is a big deal in the current political environment. I'm not sure it's all that surprising, though, considering the emergence of The Lincoln Project out of the Republican party and movements like Republicans for Harris. I think it's one more indicator that Trump's shtick has finally worn out its welcome with many on the right, evangelicals included, and while there will continue to be the hardcore Trumpists who won't give up, judging by the dwindling crowds at Trump rallies, their numbers are dropping as well.

Good news from where I sit.
