Never let anyone try to tell you Christian privilege and entitlement isn't a real thing. It absolutely is. Shame on Indiana for allowing this. It is NEVER the job of our secular government to backstop anybody's religion. Mixing religion and government is the same terrible idea it has always been.
Yes. Both as governor and as a member of Congress. His approval ratings as governor were in the toilet when Trump rescued him. I find Pence especially repugnant. He is a full on religious nut case who gave lap-dog loyalty to the most grotesquely immoral President in our history.
Now he's on tour explaining at EVERY STOP how he did not have the authority to overturn the election. He is completely unelectable. He has no support from even the far right Maga Christians.
Pence did the right thing on January 6th, but not before exploring all his other options. When the direction of the wind became clear, he threw in with the winning side. No one should ever call him a hero, because that's the last thing he is.
I'm not calling him a hero. I believe he 'did the right thing' because he knew that overturning the election would have very serious consequences for him. I don't think he's a stupid person, I think he's a calculating person who was put in an untenable situation. I think it's amusing that he is now trying to justify his actions on Jan 6th to a crowd of people who are incapable of listening to reason. He possibly could pick up a few votes from people who do think he's a hero but I doubt many of them will vote in the Republican primary.
Aw now, we can do better than that. SCOTUS will claim the Satanic rallies are different because they're not loyal to the Jesus money making machine and won't share any of their money with Thomas and Alito.
One does wonder what it will take for this court to wind up being tossed out on its proverbial ear, along with the insane number of precedent overturning decisions it's made.
I don't know why I watched that video because those people scare me. They really do seem to believe they are being moved by the Lord. I just do not get the mass hysteria on view there. Maybe I'm jealous that I was never moved like that or maybe I wonder how come these people never grew up and experienced logical thought. Regardless, I am really feeling an us vs. them mentality and I know at least some of those people voted for Biden.
Don't be jealous. Those are not people you want to emulate. Critical thinkers are almost always on the outside looking in, and that's actually a good place to be.
"I don't know why I watched that video because those people scare me."
I will remind you that you married me, and knew what you were getting in to at the time. My guess is that you like scary things for some reason. Love you too, pumpkin.
You're very right. They DO believe these things. Don't EVER ask a christer if they have spoken to god-or has god spoken to them. They absolutely WILL say yes in most every case.
“shall not be used for any unlawful purpose … or support for an ideological or political methodology being offered to the general public.”
So, what they’re saying is that being a Satanist is illegal? That’s funny because TST is a recognized religion according to law. Or, their message is political while the Christian Nationalists’ message is not?
How do they square this type of statement with protests at the capital? They must allow protests by law, laid out by the constitution. Literally, this part of the policy is completely, flatly unconstitutional.
Feucht’s church is unAmerican and, at least, fosters terrorism against the American people. But it’s okay cause Jesus.
Read the article title and thought: Can atheists start yelling PERSECUTION! now? Loudly and endlessly? It's atheists that can be truly classed as persecuted, both at home and abroad.
I have no interest in crying, "Persecution." I DO, on the other hand, have a considerable desire to positively scream, "UNEQUAL TREATMENT!" These jackasses who revel in their privilege deserve to be taken down multiple pegs. The damned problem is that those in the Justice Department are mostly just as Christian as they are and probably don't deal well with the term, "Satanist."
They need to get over that, and we need to INSIST that they get over that.
OT: Good news, everyone! Well, for me anyway. I mentioned that my house had some wind damage (lost a couple dozen shingles) from a storm a couple weeks ago. The insurance company is going to pay for an entire new roof. Yea!
We had some really bad hail for a few summers a couple years ago. One year we were able to get an new roof and new siding. The first time, the siding was about 3/4 done when we got another storm and they had to go back and replace some of the siding they had just put up as well as some work on what was uncovered when the storm hit. I think we ended up replacing the roof again 2 years later after another storm, but the siding held up.
I didn't notice any hail during the storm but the insurance guy noticed some hail damage and checked the weather reports which indicated some hail that day. If it had been only wind damage they would only pay for a patch job. Yea, hail, or should I say Hail, hail!
God is good! I'm in Texas. In the 30 years i've been in my home I've had 4 or 5 new roofs and never had to pay for any of them. Hail is MY god. He been berry, berry good to me.
Feucht does a jeebus concert, that's OK. TST wants to do the exact same thing? That sort of thing isn't allowed because reasons. Fucking Christian Privilege needs to end.
She looks so pleased. l A man of God is touching her. How exciting. Just today on my nextdoor neighborhood website a woman posted her most favorite bible verse. It said "Jesus-the same today yesterday and forever". WOWOWOWOWOW It was hard to restrain myself from saying "I agree-non existent". Them christers are nauseating.
Ugg, I signed up for Nextdoor because my mother suggested it. I immediately started to get notifications of all sorts of inane crap, including the Jesus stuff. I shouldn't have been surprised as we live in a community with 5 Mormon churches within 5 miles of us and a regional temple about 12 miles away. I deleted if after I started to get notifications of a 'suspicious person' in the neighborhood. From the pictures they posted I can only assume he was suspicious because he was Hispanic.
"I immediately started to get notifications of all sorts of inane crap, including the Jesus stuff...From the pictures they posted I can only assume he was suspicious because he was Hispanic."
The socialist hippie freak? Amazing how kkkristers have bought the scurrilous line that the rich will at some point become wealthy enough to create jobs. Even Henry Ford realized mass production is driven by mass consumption. The Only thing that creates jobs is demand for products. HS Economics.
Apparently rich people have "body men". So there is at least one job created by someone getting wealthy enough. Bonus is that your body man will get indicted with you.
I had a similar experience. I had only been a member for a few days when the warnings started about a suspicious man approaching people's front doors and leaving suspicious-er stuff there. Be on your guard!!! Turned out to be the mailman. Not that my neighbors are imbeciles or anything, but...
I just got a dish of ice cream from The Chocolate Shppe on my lunch break. Zanzibar-mint, mint ice cream swirled with their signature Zanzibar chocolate. Too good to pass up.
My nephew's birthday is in late December. I tried to convince my brother they should celebrate his half-birthday instead. (My mother's was the 24th, so I heard all about combo gifts)
Edit: As Bob Smith joked the wise men told Jesus "These are for your birthday *and* Christmas"
Christian Privilege. It couldn't be more obvious if it were the headline in 72-point type on every newspaper in the Hoosier State. Christians get the elevator to the penthouse. Satanists get the shaft. Cliched as hell, but true.
The one thing I didn't see here is the participation of the FFRF or American Atheists in any proposed lawsuits. I suppose that's next ... and "next" can't come soon enough to suit me.
I wonder if that preacher guy turned to evangelism as compensation for all the teasing he undoubtedly got when he was a kid and all the other kids called him Sean Fucked.
I know that with Ghouliani up there under the hot lights he was sweating so badly his hair dye was running while he waxed pathetic about liking "My Cousin Vinnie."
Hmm. Since he's supposed to be ratting out Trump, would he be up for a remake of "The Valachi Papers?"
Denying TST equal access, are they? Would that be an actual example of the cancel culture xtians whine about when they're rightly denied having their way on everything?
Never let anyone try to tell you Christian privilege and entitlement isn't a real thing. It absolutely is. Shame on Indiana for allowing this. It is NEVER the job of our secular government to backstop anybody's religion. Mixing religion and government is the same terrible idea it has always been.
Isn't Indiana the state who had mikro pencis for governor ?

So well and so accurately put.
"No support from the far right"? Well-a well done prayer or two may just save the day for the turd.
I'm sure SCOTUS will say that Satanic rallies are different because, "Fuck you."
Aw now, we can do better than that. SCOTUS will claim the Satanic rallies are different because they're not loyal to the Jesus money making machine and won't share any of their money with Thomas and Alito.

They scare me because they're one charismatic leader away from turning into a violent lynch mob... like many of their ancestors.
Maybe some of that Ron Desantis charm huh? :-)
Don't be jealous. Those are not people you want to emulate. Critical thinkers are almost always on the outside looking in, and that's actually a good place to be.
Exactly. As far away from the mass insanity as you can get.
"I don't know why I watched that video because those people scare me."

More likely they are doing what is expected of them. PDPs, Public Displays of Piety.
A direct violation of Matthew 6:5.
“shall not be used for any unlawful purpose … or support for an ideological or political methodology being offered to the general public.”

I mentioned yelling PERSECUTION! just to piss off the cristers, telling them: "You see how you sound? How's it taste, eh?"
Their cognitive dissonance is so strong that it wouldn't even register to them that you are trying to show them a mirror.
The persecuted... https://scontent-ord5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/358535668_1454585115327846_3397422086082382098_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&cb=99be929b-59f725be&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=YNyC872hV8sAX8RamQ_&_nc_ht=scontent-ord5-2.xx&oh=00_AfD2j-FCrKnv11lEhHy03NZvC2P-7Q21ORTNNYviPyCGJA&oe=64AC5988
Are you any relation to Tinkers Damn? :-)
I had never heard that phrase before but I sure hope I'm worth more than a Tinker's Damn.
IF you yell "persecution" you better have some money in your damned hands or you're gonna get run over. Bad.
OT: Good news, everyone! Well, for me anyway. I mentioned that my house had some wind damage (lost a couple dozen shingles) from a storm a couple weeks ago. The insurance company is going to pay for an entire new roof. Yea!

At least the roof, the roof, the roof wasn't on fire.
You're lucky to have a bunch of smart fellow posters. Many wouldn't have gotten that one.
Go with the metal sheeting this time. :)
So glad I don't live in a high wind area.
Wait, what's with the building shaking...
Have you checked for volcanoes? : )
Oh, for the lava Pete!
We need to stop this pun run now or I'm going to blow my top.

That what comes of a sedimentary lifestyle.
Those who engage in punnery are your quarry? Or do you think we are just talking schist?
Pun thread? I guess we all have our faults.

Never up?

If high wind scares you I hope trump doesn't come to town!
He won't. I don't think he likes us very much. The feeling is mutual.
Well now-that's an unnecessary statement. Who DOES trump love.
Besides himself? Let me think...
Nope. Not coming up with anyone.
Ivanka.

Is that anything like "pool boy?"
I'd like a pool boy. I promise I wouldn't shoot at him (at least not bullets)
Unfortunately, they keep telling me I have to have a pool.
I really need to get out of this ruby red area.

SMH.

"Hebrews 13:8." It's what my grandmother used to say when we were having leftovers.
Would you rather she had carried out the crucifixion story instead of that particular verse? :-) It coulda been worse.
"Your performance request is rejected on the grounds of: You have cooties, ugh.

Feucht looks like a cootie factory.

It’s my half birthday too.
Half an Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen?
I just got a dish of ice cream from The Chocolate Shppe on my lunch break. Zanzibar-mint, mint ice cream swirled with their signature Zanzibar chocolate. Too good to pass up.
Sounds like something that would be served on Olympus.
I’m pretty sure Mount Olympus serves Chocolate Shoppe ice cream. It has been a while since I’ve been to that amusement park though.
Started near midnight and came out after midnight? ;)
Sideways.
My nephew's birthday is in late December. I tried to convince my brother they should celebrate his half-birthday instead. (My mother's was the 24th, so I heard all about combo gifts)

Conjoined twins, or what?
The anniversary of my accident where I lost my left arm an leg. I’m all right now.

I'm seeing National Chocolate Day and Global Forgiveness Day, but I'll throw on some tunes just in case.
I must admit, I love the shirts they're wearing.
"Gods don't kill people, People kill people"
I had to strain a bit to see it, but I think guitarist Steve Cass's shirt reads:
GODS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. PEOPLE WHO HAVE GODS KILL PEOPLE
Oooh! They rock! Thanks for the link.
You're very welcome. Glad to put people onto them. 😎

Indiana, the state that gave us Mike Pence. Why am I not surprised?

Or take a few acting lessons, so he can get hired for the title role if they ever remake Nosferatu.
Did Nosferatu sweat shit?
I'm not sure. I believe in the Herzog version with Klaus Kinski, they left that part of his behavior out. *smiles*
I don't want Rudy to besmirch the late Charles Bronson by playing a role that Chuck B. played!
😂
With that face and those beady eyes, yes...but the rest of his pudgy out-of-shape carcass...can't quite see it.
Maybe I just lack the imagination.
Disbarred finally! Well, better late that never.
Denying TST equal access, are they? Would that be an actual example of the cancel culture xtians whine about when they're rightly denied having their way on everything?
I see all of Sean Fucked's LPs, both studio and live, are self-published (except for one live one released through Bethel Church).
Not exactly a major player in the music world.
