"Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht accused of massive financial misconduct by former ministry insiders"

Mysogyny, racism, LGBTQI+ hate = crickets, but embezzling money ? That's the most serious offence. How catholic of them.

Now the real question is, are they offended by his grifting, or are they offended they weren't part of it ?

I would say that it is more likely they are offended that the weren't getting a cut.

To the conspiracy fantasists and their clone/robot twaddle that Trump reposted on his own media platform...

Trump now is very different mntally from Trump in his first go round as POTUS. I guess that means that Trump then was secretly assassinated in 2021 and replaced by clones/robots, right? See how easy that was?

I find it funny, in a twisted sort of funny, that when it comes to financial crimes religious folks are ready to condemn their leadership, but when it comes to sexual or other forms of personal abuse they are silent or make excuses, blaming the victims. Where are the folks telling the congregations and others affected that if they didn’t want him to use the money for personal gain, they should not have flaunted it in church, or made those donations. Where are the “that money was seducing him, he’s a man he can’t control himself around all that cash.” They’re not there, they’re saying “this is wrong, he needs to be held accountable.” Money wins out every time. Rich men can do anything to other people, except mess with other rich men’s wealth.

And many Christians are all too willing to be marks.

It's depressing but I agree with Hemant's comments about the legal response - there won't be any.

We live in a time/administration where there is unlikely to be any DOJ response to wealthy religious cons. When response happens, a quick butt-kissing session or donation to the administration will get you a "I've looked at his situation, and I think he's being treated terribly unfairly" tweet from POTUS followed by a pardon if needed.

Long term solution, we really need a revamp of charitable reporting rules to get rid of exceptions for religious organizations. If the issue is reporting is too burdensome for small (e.g. one-pastor) churches, then we fix that by saying any organization - religious or secular - that is below a certain size of staffing or revenue is excepted - but anything above it, no exception.

Until we do that, religious charities will draw conmen like flies on crap, because the government has essentially tailor-made a corporate category for them.

One of the best way to cover up a scam, is to label it a ministry. Slap the word Jesus on something, and you get a pass until the criminality can no longer be ignored. There will always be frauds and con artists like Feucht, but I lay the real blame on the people who delegate an important party of their thinking to them. I've little doubt but what he will claim to be a poor persecuted victim of the godless left.

If history is anything to go by, slapping the word Jesus on something lets a lot more criminality be ignored than would've been without it.

The Christian nationalist want to remove all contributions of anyone that help built the United States who isn’t white (European descent), heterosexual, Christian (evangelical), conservative (fascist), republican (Trump supporter).

I know the US isn’t perfect and still a work in progress, unless the citizens continue to work to improve and expand the civil liberties and human rights of all who live in the US. Otherwise the country will continue to decline and won’t be able to create solutions to the problems it faces. Once the backlash becomes unmanageable, he will follow the *other* playbook: confess to some vague "sinning," step back to focus on his family, wait 6 months or a year and then claim to have been forgiven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and call everyone who balks at his full restoration insufficiently Christian.
