"...announce utter and complete ignorance as to the function of their office, and total disregard for the services they are expected to perform as public representatives."

In other words, Republicans.

Well, to be fair, not all Republicans are theocrats, and some Democrats are. But, as Damon Runyon observed, “The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but that’s the way to bet!”

If one day a bill of this kind pass, everything not christian or not the right flavor of christianity can be considered satanic too. The proof is in the centuries of bloodshed everywhere christians had a good (stronghold?).

"Not the right flavor of Christianity" is precisely the reason smaller Christian denominations begged Jefferson to include the separation of church and state in the Constitution.

I knew before reading the article that it had to be a Republican who came up with this. A Republican who obviously has no idea what's contained in the Constitution. Our secular government cannot choose one religion over another, and his proposal is a gross violation of the First Amendment. Evidently, his own arguments are so weak the best he can come up with to defend them is attempting to silence other points of view.

It’s best to beat them at their own game. I am religion-free and find it outrageous that catering to religion has brought us to this. But, I would love to see someone suggest we give a turn for public display to one religion at a time. Start with the Muslims, bow to Allah before high school football games, suddenly rt wing christians would demand that we ban religious rites at these games. This is just tongue in cheek - but any way to turn the tables and force them to back off is a success in my eyes.

Can we all show up with demolishing equipment and say we just trying to help uphold the fine moral legal traditions of AZ?

Perhaps the gentleman should be removed from office for participating in an insurrection, it is clear he is not capable of doing the job he was elected to hold because he’s actively working against the constitution he swore to uphold.

Of course we have a party that has been working to destroy the constitution for generations now. It only recently that their efforts are becoming effective. Decades of cutting and stabbing may not do much harm at first, but they’re making headway now. Death by a million cuts has been the GOP platform for as long as I’ve been alive, probably longer. So it’s no surprise that they’re finding success now.

It wasn't an insurrection, it was a lovely picnic. Everyone was going into the building to invite the members of congress. Trump would have been there himself, but he heard they were short of hamberders, so he went to go pick some up.

But you forgot the other half of the explanation. It was a lovely picnic for the House members with all the best intentions by conservative patriots AND it was a deep state liberal plot using bought FBI agents in a false flag operation in which no conservative patriots were actually involved.

Your honor, my client has an alibi for the time in question. AND he shot in self-defense...
