Still not one single Republican/Libertarian or even Independent in the CFC. Speaks volumes.

Don't worry- the Firemen will shortly come 'round to get rid of 𝘡𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦.

I get that reference ;)

Well, they believe in free thought. Just not that kind of free thought. The kind of free thought were everyone is free to think like them or free to face the consequences.

Bagat's avatar

Their god of hellacious extortion keeps them in line.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Two from my state now (Pramila Jayapal and Emily Randall). Yay! Big props especially to Randall.

Now to match/surpass our rational brethren in California. :)

Joe King's avatar

One from my state. Not my district, I'm stuck with Tim "If climate change is real, God will take care of it" Walberg.

Joe King's avatar

Full on MAGA fascist, too. His weekly email newsletters are full of how great he thinks it is that Trump is undoing the "damage" from Kamala/Biden.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Those are the types you hope get screwed by Muskrump and the GQP.

Lynn Veit's avatar

Let me guess, the alleged "damage" is never specifically named or even described?

Memphis has Steve Cohen, a rarity in the Bible Belt.

NOGODZ20's avatar

It's a miracle. :)

Donrox's avatar

But here across the river, we have got Tom Cotton.

Black Hole and DM mourner's avatar

None from mine. It's so unjust !!!

larry parker's avatar

Don't worry. France will get statehood right after Canada, Panama, and Greenland.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Bet France's new national anthem will be GOD BLESS THE USA...(oh, and france, too)

But still not DC or Puerto -"nobody knew it was an island"- Rico....

FDR mused on the theme of the freedoms and how freedom 'from' was as important as freedom 'of.' Having religious 'freedom' imposed with coercion is not freedom at all.

Scottish philosophers have added much to the marketplace of ideas. Potus #47 had a Scottish mother, but his odious father is better-known.

Claudia's avatar

Yes. Scotland had/has some very clear thinkers. Can I suggest you google β€˜Janey Godley’ and β€˜Turnberry Ayrshire’ and you’ll find a pic of one of our great thinkers?

Pic now added.

Janey was wonderful - it would have been great to hear her commentary about our current times.

THREATENING eternal hell is extortion.

I almost wish it existed, cause the magat horde would surely be headed there. Never gonna forgive em for wrecking the tail end of my life.

I don't know why, but I still get surprised when I read about how few atheists there are in a country that specifically have a "no public religion" in their constitution.

Black Hole and DM mourner's avatar

Next, they will dig up the graves of anyone who isn't a white christian man and send the coffins to the families or anywhere out of view.

NOGODZ20's avatar

The unbridled racism/misogyny/anti-LGBTQ sentiment by the I HATE DEI! scumwads makes me want to vomit. Preferably all over them.

For all the Democratic congresscritters not standing up every single chance they get, I have just one question:

If they are comfortable "purging" THIS, that Niemoller(sp?) quote should come to mind, how long do you really think it will be, before they feel bold enough to "purge" congress itself of any Democrats they deem "unacceptable"? Because I'M betting, it will not be long....

Hats off to Hemant for not making us look at Popoff all weekend!

NOGODZ20's avatar

Unlike Popoff, Hemant has morals.

The build quality of Teslas in general has been called into question by car magazines, practically from the time they first came out. That the cybertruck continues this trend should surprise no one.

Personally, you couldn't pay me enough to drive a Tesla.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Teslas are computers on wheels. When the computer fucks up, you know you're in for a world of hurt.

Lynn Veit's avatar

Which is why I love my '98 pickup truck.

Lynn Veit's avatar

Doesn't even have power windows. You have to manually roll them up or down.

Lux's avatar

You can look at most Teslas and be reasonably certain Elmo didn't design em, then you look at that dumpster on wheels and think, oh, Elmo designed it, or the kid he carries around as a human shield did....

I think the CT is labelled Model POS.

Tesla served its purpose. Before Tesla, major car companies said it was impossible to make an electric vehicle for one reason or another. Once Tesla was successful they ran out of excuses. Now that they have served their purpose, they either need to get their act together and put out better vehicles or fade away,

"That doesn’t prevent her, of course, from supporting church/state separation and protecting freedom of religion for everyone (including the non-religious)."

Agreed! In fact, I'd argue that any religious person with even a bit of sense should realize we need separation of church and statement as much as the non-religious do.

Bagat's avatar

And the god of "unconditional love" wilol brn them forever.

A great many politicians pay lip-service to religion for political purposes, while remaining grotesquely immoral. I can kind of understand this, as it has always been the way politics operate. It is the true believers like Mike Johnson who terrify me. People of genuine principle, as represented by the free-thought caucus, bring out the hatred in conservatives.

Lynn Veit's avatar

Mike Johnson, love-child of Howdy Doody and Waldo. AKA the uber right-wing nutjob's nutjob.

larry parker's avatar

Johnson was born in 1972. Waldo in 1987. The math doesn't add up. : )

Lux's avatar

I've kind of always thought that too, people say, "well, so and so is not a 'real' Christian", and I think, I've READ tha Bible, if I ever run into a "real Christian", I'll run the other way...

oraxx's avatar

Attempting to sort out who was, or was not, a TRUE Christian has spilled enough blood to float the Navy.

Bagat's avatar

EVERYTHING brings out the hatred of kkkons
