We are elated to be bringing you this newsletter from the other side of the election! Things got pretty intense last week as pro-MAGA Christians were calling up angelic reinforcement, praying at the steps of election offices, and straight up asking God to flip votes. But it’s over now. Enough of the votes are in to know Joe Biden is the president-elect. It’s time to accept reality and move forward.
I guess all of that is news to Kenneth Copeland, who thinks laughter will reverse the election results:
Televangelist Kenneth Copeland laughs at the media for declaring that Joe Biden has won the election and will become president. We can’t say for sure what the maniacal laughing is about, but it looks identical to a tightly packed room of mouth-breathers intentionally spreading a deadly virus.
A happy Carl Sagan Day to everyone!
The Supreme Court declined to hear a case that would remove “so help me God” from the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America, leaving in place the 2018 decision that deemed it acceptable. The case was brought on by a French atheist who sought citizenship after living in the U.S. since 2000 and could not “in good conscience include those words in her oath.”
Censored, a conversion therapy documentary 16 years in the making, is now on YouTube for free (because nobody would pay to watch this tripe). Bigotry aside, the production quality of this “movie” is an absolute disgrace to filmmaking. There’s no way anyone needed 16 years to put this together unless they failed to mention it was shelved for 15 years and 11 months. The film overtly claims to be “scientific” and tries hard to pretend religion has nothing to do with this, but those of us who weren’t born yesterday know there’s no sincere argument against being LGBTQ that doesn’t invoke faith.
Filmmaker Michel Lizotte just wants to protect kids from what he claims is the gay agenda.
[Lizotte’s] main hope for the documentary is that it deliver sound information to young adults and parents of same-sex attracted children, covering all aspects of the debate surrounding same-sex therapies, and cutting through all the hype and poisonous rhetoric emanating from pro-gay media and government circles, in order to enable individuals fighting against SSA, as well as schools and parents dealing with a gender-confused teenager, to make the right choice.
Biden released his COVID Advisory Board and — this is strange — it’s full of people who know what they’re doing.
We wanted to give you a moment to relax after that chilling Kenneth Copeland laughing video before revealing the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Here’s Copeland’s daughter, Terri Pearsons, asking God to just hold another election so Trump can win.
God is such a prankster, it’s a wonder these preachers and “prophets” still listen to Him.
WEEKEND QUICKIES
A Delaware woman sued Donald Trump for lying about being a Christian, making others believers think he was one of them, and essentially dooming them all to Hell. Her lawsuit was thrown out, sadly. But that’s okay, his legal plate is plenty full once he leaves office.
A priest’s “disturbing” behavior got him barred from his own church. The Diocese of Fresno, California confirms that “this matter does not concern misconduct or sexual abuse of a minor.” Well that’s good, but the kids still aren’t safe — this priest was keeping an arsenal on church grounds.
Here’s why Joe Biden’s victory is a triumphant defeat for Christian Nationalism.
