Yes these are the VERY same people who claim that efforts to eradicate racism in our society are tantamount to anti-white bias. They do NOT want equality. They want SUPREMACY.

Cue the surprised Pikachu faces when they realize 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 sect was only allowed in the tent as long as the 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 sect needed their votes...

The underlying assertion seems to be that Christians are entitled to privilege, and have more rights than other people. If you want to see what genuine persecution looks like, hand the power of life and death to the evangelical preachers. I've contended for a long time that, at least up to a point, religion thrives on persecution, real and imaginary.

Candida Moss has some interesting books on that, The Myth of Persecution in particular, and The Other Christs. Essentially, Christianity in fact does require a conception of itself as a persecuted minority to function, no matter how dominant they are.

Nothing would fill the pews quite like government telling people they were not allowed to attend church.

The most fragile of snowflakes. The biggest whiners and criers. Yet they claim to have an "awesome God."

Puny god.

Boreal's avatar

All this victimhood. You’d think the deity they claim is all powerful would do something to defend them from perceived slights.

Agree,,,keep the "level playing field"●alot of older civilizations required non interference in personal belief■ big problem here is the TAX exempt haven offered, a temptation to influence & monetize social support services.💱💰

Benjamin Franklin had Christians pegged long ago

goodreads.com/quotes/2370-if-we-look-back-into-history-for-the-character-of

Anyone who knows anything about what the Christian religion has done to humanity since the religion got its first taste of power in 380 CE KNOWS who the true purveyors of hatred and discrimination have been.

The other obligatory Ben Franklin quote: "𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥, 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧; 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, '𝘵𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯, 𝘐 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘥, 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦."

I still challenge any Christian living in the US who believes they are being discriminated against/persecuted to travel to countries where their brethren truly are being harassed and stand in solidarity with them, ready and willing to face the same harsh treatment by their oppressors. Perhaps even face potential martyrdom for their savior.

I can guarandamntee not one of them would do it.

Let’s just send them. One way ticket.

Remember that time when Biden was so mean to these two Corinthians?

And when Biden tried to ban travel from predominantly christian countries?

What about when Biden called nations with large christian populations "shithole countries"?

It took over 500 pages to tell us what we knew they would say. So fragile. Babies, all of them. I swear they live in 6th grade.

Maltnothops's avatar

You beat me to a middle school reference by an entire minute!

larry parker's avatar

6th grade is still elementary school. 7th and 8th grade are middle school. That's how it worked for me anyway. : )

Maltnothops's avatar

When I was of that age, a millennium ago, middle school did not exist. Elementary K-6, Junior high 7-8, High School 9-12. But when middle school was invented, it was 6-8, in my experience.

It was always explained as based on “developmental research” but someone finally fessed up that it was purely pragmatic based on enrollment. The elementary schools couldn’t accommodate 6th graders any more.

Intriguingly , when my school district built a brand new state of the art MS, it was done in such a way that 6th graders would never encounter 7 or 8th graders. Separate entrances. Stairwells that bypassed the second floor. Lunch times that would not mix 6es with 7s or 8s.

larry parker's avatar

You didn't have just one classroom for everyone? : )

Maltnothops's avatar

Of course, my own experience was in a 2 room school with 5-8 in one classroom. I was there for grades 6-8. Effectively avoiding the unconstitutional, because cruel and unusual, institution of junior high.

Joan the Dork's avatar

For some reason, an image popped into my head of a Christian furiously punching himself in the face while screaming "𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦!"

Wonder what that's about.

NOGODZ20's avatar

I'm thinking of that meme of the kid with a boot pressing on his head. Turns out that kid had his hand inside the boot pressing on his head.

Troublesh00ter's avatar

So ... a bunch of biased Republicans with a biased agenda created a biased report which cited non-existent incidents and falsified data to satisfy a bunch of biased, butt-hurt Christians who cannot deal with religious diversity.

Par for the course for the Trump administration.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Guess we know who the ones dealing in fake news really are.

Troublesh00ter's avatar

We've known that for at least the last 10 years, and likely longer.

John P Grundowski's avatar

TRUE~those points resonate.I took off my "kid gloves" years ago, these people are spreading a sickness of lies and hate‼️

We are contaminated & judged by thier influence/ inflexability🗿🪦

Eric's avatar

So...the president who is openly feuding with the Pope somehow has the best interest of Christians in mind? The president who has gone on record as stating he "isn't very religious?" The president who portrays himself as Christ-like to the objections of Republican Party members? THIS is the guy who is supposedly taking "Christian persecution" seriously?

Linda's avatar

He has delivered huge wins for them against the people they hate. So they will worship him till the end of time.

Eric's avatar

Apparently, all is forgiven if you further the Christian cause in some way. The mental gymnastics Christians must go through in order to explain away his behavior must be truly amazing.

Linda's avatar

It’s incredible!

OT- Chump claims his war is over, juuuust in time to squeak in under the 60-day deadline, even though it seems the 𝘸𝘢𝘳 hasn't gotten the memo yet: https://apnews.com/article/trump-war-powers-pentagon-iran-422311a4443b987af87cd4ca35d54f48

I can already see the line they'll use when the killing resumes: "𝘕𝘰, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘳, 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘳! 𝘞𝘦 said 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥, 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴!"

Bloody Internet has been out all morning. I have had to find other things to do, and it ain't easy. Went to the hardware store and bought some rope so that I can pump out my garage pit. Went to the library and took out some books and then found the magazine that they said was overdue sitting on the shelf so that was good. But I'm learning how much I rely on the Internet for my mornings.

So – did anyone expect anything else from this stupid bloody report? I imagine it's of a kind with all those indictments his DOJ can't get. If anything stops the US from sliding into fascism, it will be incompetence.

larry parker's avatar

I got a raised bed ready for some strawberries next week. I have spent way more time on the internet today though.

I expected at least a little weak evidence so I'm disappointed. : )
