Not a Republican on the list. A real shocker, I know. Republicans pander to the preachers and view human decency as a character flaw. Critical thinking is the worst possible sin in the eyes of most of these people.

Great minds think alike, but fools rarely differ.

Evidenced by the way the right keep parroting the same talking points as soon as the regime releases a new one. Most of the right wing influencers can’t even reword the thought, just video after video after video of mayonnaise colored morons repeating the exact text they were sent in an automated text message. “What if Bill Clinton’s is on the list? You libtards would defend him.” Over and over and over again.

Gotdamn they’re sheep and still pretend they’re geniuses.

Just like the Nazis cunningly

corrupted senior Wehrmacht officers and prussian military nobility and german aristocrates with cash money, tax concessions, goverment positions, goverment contracts land grants & properties, and all kinds of awards and pensions, so too have the GOP been corrupted to.do the bidding of of the rich and powers that be both domestically and internationally.

Maybe take a leaf from Trump's book (republican's Heritage Foundation, Project 25: manual for dictatorship), such as, renaming the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf to Gulf of Unprintable, and start using a different label for the fascist/neo-Nazi republican party. Is there anything "grand" about them? I suggest looking at el supremo, generalissimo, top banana, big kahuna, head honcho, kingpin, crime family boss/mafia godfather. But "massa" seems to fit best, with Trump and the republicans turning the U.S. into his personal deep south plantation.

The Freethought Caucus needs to be an order of magnitude larger before the NSGOP will take them seriously. Why are there no Republicans? Because the NSGOP doesn't value freedom of thought. They want to make their ideology the only ideas allowed. They would like to have thought police, where you can be locked up for insufficient loyalty to der OrangeFührer.

This is the dream of many religions, not just xtianity. Nearly all clim tjhe "One TRUE TRUTH" nd ll others are heretics deserving pinful deaths. Jesus preached love, tolerance and acceptance. Yet they hate women, LGBTQ, Trans, POC & atheists.

ICE is supposedly going after gangs, yet they raided Hyundai plant under construction in GA. Now South Kore is saying the entire thing is in jeopardy. ICE avoids gangs because they know gang embers are usually armed and will shoot first. More of dumpy's finest chickens.

They will never go after gangs. Charlie Kirk seemed to think gang murders don't count. He was talking about that as he was shot. It seems to me they think it is a Democrat problem. Why do they never think about why gangs exist and what they could do to prevent them?

Expand full comment
John Smith's avatar

That would require an actual solution to a real problem, republicans don’t have solutions to real problems. That is why the republicans make up a simplistic problems so the republicans can use an even more simplistic solutions, and the average MAGAS think the problems are getting solved. Yet, that problem and the solution doesn’t have any actual impact on people’s lives. The so called war on Christmas is an example of a made up problem and solution, there are countless more but you get the idea.

To actual solve a problem, first you must understand the complexity and nuances of that problem (republicans don’t want to bother), then you come up with a nuanced and practical way to solve it, but that requires time, money, expertise which the republicans don’t have (nor the republicans want to acquire these things) or want to do.

Expand full comment
Ian D's avatar

Hear what you saying. Solutions, as you know, indicate the need for redistribution of resources and opportunities for all citizens while social chaos and forms of Lord of the flies here and there distract people and set citizens against citizens for the purpose of maintaining the status quo.

Unfortunately the US has never had a strong collective labour union culture apart from nationalism which in itself is extremely detrimental strangely enough to the nation which is the people.

I agree with you on labour and collective bargaining. Like I said real problems that actually affect real people are more complex and nuance than the republicans and the MAGAS want to understand or even deal with!

Others have drawn parallels between Kirk's untimely-only-in-the-sense-that-it-didn't-come-sooner demise to Horst Wessel's murder and subsequent martyrdom for the Nazis (who ironically would've probably killed him themselves if he'd still been around for the Night of Long Knives), and I'm inclined to agree. The lionizing started before the body was even cold; at least one Republican in Congress has already introduced legislation to put a statue of the shithead in the Capitol Rotunda.

Still happy he's dead though. If it wasn't him, it'd have been someone else. The speed with which all the other notable Nazis jumped all over this posthumous turd-polishing effort tells me that the script was already written and merely waiting for the names to be filled in.

McBride does in fact fight for trans rights and is widely credited with stiffening the ultimately successful Democratic resistance to excluding gender affirming care from Medicaid in the last budget bill.

It does seem like the right is trying to fight the fight at the bathroom level because that’s where their base is. But that isn’t where the fight needs to be and McBride might be savvy to that. The visible fight over bathrooms is a cover for the deeper fight she is working on. At least, that’s what I hope she’s doing.

It does seem like it’s really important not to give any ground, but if we’re focused on the bathrooms, the right is not worried about us fighting for the medical care. We can do two things at once, but to the right, it’s about keeping us swinging until we’re exhausted, then they go in for the kill. We need folks who are willing to fight the tougher battles behind the scenes as well as folks who can take on the constant little skirmishes over this bathroom or that one.

Have heard "forgettable host" and always true to form and no doubt like others, preoccupied with networking and the next pay day.

As for this constant argument

that money thrown at homelessness brings little or no result, more so when it includes mental health. Well when you consider that trillions of $ are thrown around by both political parties - domestically and internationally - any money spent for homelessness & mental health is simply petty cash.

And will never hear these 'fox type' characters question an economic system that's intentionally geared for inequality and underfunding at the expencr of the majority of US citizens. After all they are thinking of future pay days.

Any criminal act by a homeless person who contends with mental health issues is one to many. But so too is any criminal act as a result of political and civic indifference, corruption and greed one to many. There's plenty of sin to go around in Pottersville USA 🇺🇸 😔
