In addition to being a far-right MAGA Republican, Ryan Walters is a four-star religious nut case. As is typical with such people, Walters appears to have convinced himself his religiosity qualifies him to decide what is, or is not, true. No one gets to decide what's true. Truth simply is, and truth never requires faith. He is a living case study of everything wrong with his state and to an unfortunate degree, this country.

He and other Domionist christians live in a state of manufactured reality. They want to usher in an age of 'The handmaids Tale' - by way of '1984' If all they did was corrupt their own kids minds, it would be one thing. But, they have the mentality that they are on a mission from god to impose their worldview on every child in the state. That is theofascist dictatorship. Nothing but.

They have no real idea about how that scenario could or would play out. It feels to me that they are searching for proper boundaries that were never established early on so idealize how much better their lives would be if there was some kind of control in their lives. It’s sad to know how badly it could turn out for them.

And because he has convinced himself that what he has decided is true isn't just his interpretation of an ancient text, but the actual words of God, any actual evidence that he is presented with he will ignore and call "lies from the Devil". This refusal to cater to his whims by publishers he will reflexively call "persecution", "conspiracy", and "lies from Hell".

Hey Walters:

Don't start crying "persecution" or "conspiracy". All of these textbook publishers that are ignoring your demands to teach pseudoscience and pseudohistory aren't out to get you or lie to students, no matter what you have convinced yourself of. These textbook publishers actually care about the facts.

The facts of history are generally agreed upon by historians, and those facts don't line up with the nonsense spouted by Barton and other conspiracy theorists. Your efforts to indoctrinate the children of Oklahoma into the Cult of Trump and the "Christian Nation" fantasy will fail. Not because of Satanic influence or anti-Christian bias, but because of the basic facts.

It is long past time for you to stop trying to turn Oklahoma into a far right Christian theocracy. Maybe you should give it back to the indigenous people who were there first.

I would love to know if Walters is getting blowback from Oklahomans, and if so, how much. I'm sure he gets all sorts of cootchie-coos from the faithful (and the brainwashed!), but I will ALSO bet that he is getting no small amount of ... let's be nice and call it: "constructive criticism" from the residents of the Sooner State.

I'm sure he ignores it, if it's happening. I'm also sure that some corner of his mind still recognizes how much he's screwing up!

Don't get me wrong, I know Dems do this also, but they will use a story of a single mother of three who is just getting by and represents many more people. Try as he might, Walters (child killer) cannot lie to the students of Oklahoma. He can force teachers to say what he wants, he can change the standards, but he cannot hide the fact that he’s lying and misinforming the students. Texas might be able to get away with it, because the textbook publishers cater to Texas, but Oklahoma can’t, not without several other states also using the same standards. There are enough states that will not allow their standards to fall to keep the publishers from giving in right away. Even Texas has to make these changes incrementally, because the rest of the country will push back if the changes are so obvious. This is hope, I guess.

Ryan Walters works hard. He works hard to get his twisted view of history and civics and social studies through the Oklahoma legislature and signed off by the governor. He busts his butt to distort American history to reflect his values and desire to Christianize the entire country. I have little doubt but that is his most devoted focus.

News Bulletin, Ryan: IT AIN'T WORKING!!! Major schoolbook publishers are emphatically NOT acceding to Walters' BS. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (which was just Houghton Mifflin back when I went to school) and McGraw Hill are voting with their editors and printing presses, not buying Walters' alternative view of recent history, particularly as regards the 2020 presidential election. My suspicion is that they care more for their well-earned reputation for integrity, honesty, and accuracy than they do for attempted curry-favoring with Walters or Trump or anyone else who would distort the story of the United States.

Ultimately, I suspect Ryan will find SOMEONE who will cater to his delusion (Podunk Publishing and Car Wash, LLC, perhaps) ... but that's as far as it will go.

Once again, Walters...

The Founders...the 7 KEY founders who had the most say in shaping the country and its secular form of government...were not influenced by the Christian religion. 5 of the 7 were Deists and one was a "Brylcreem Christian." That left 1 orthodox believer. Nowhere in the Constitution is anything of the Christian religion even mentioned. That outmoded dating system referred to as "The Year of Our Lord" is not part of the body of the text and was added later by a scrivener.

Once again, Walters...

Another document that is consided the law of the land is the Treaty With Tripoli. IT clearly states that our form of government was NOT based in any way on the Christian religion. You and Barton need to go back to school.

Trump's father and grandfather ducked military service. Trump Sr. told Trump Jr. he'd disinherit the latter if he joined the army,

That might take care of voluntary enlistment, but what about the draft? Fred had no control over that. If Trump really wanted to serve he could wait until his number was called and then told Fred "Sorry, dad, I have to." Then what? Would pappy follow through on his threat? I have a feeling Trump didin't reallly want to go. He had a family tradition of non-service to live up to (his grandfather left Germany to get out of serving).

The only decent Trump child (Fred Jr.) actually did serve in the Air National Guard as a second lieutent. His father made his life hell.
