Hagee expects this to trigger Armageddon and Jesus coming to commit atrocities against all the people Hagee hates.

OT: This is my only comment for today. I just got back from my sweet kitty's final vet visit. She was almost 9, but had an aggressive cancer.

Troublesh00ter's avatar

Terribly sorry to hear that, Joe. It's never easy and it ALWAYS sucks. Condolences, my friend.

Stacy's avatar

How idiotic. What if the god Hagee expects destroys him? How can he be so sure he’s on the “good side”? What hubris.

Charles Newman's avatar

Agreed, Hagee a true Christian, has been preaching his the death cult End Times bull shit for years. He knows how controlling its fear is with believers. Willing to give him notoriety and large sums of cash to be in his God's favor.

No questions asked because he also preaches it's a sin to question his God and the word of God.

God Bless Jim Hagee?

Lee's avatar

Hagee is no Christian by any measure for he is nothing more than a lying multi millionaire who selectively uses Bible verses to reward himself. His “church” should be taxed!

Alverant's avatar

Why do you think he isn't Christian? He sure acts like one.

John Smith's avatar

What makes you a “true” Christian? Who gave you the authority to determine who is or isn’t a “true” Christian?

Charles Newman's avatar

Agree, nothing but another con man fleecing the flock with threats of controlling fear and intimidation from his God. Been going on for thousands of years with many Religions and governments. IMO hopefully A. I. will put it all to rest sooner than later.

Also "Tax the Fucken Churches"-Frank Zappa 1980 would help.

God Bless Bible Verses?

I'm sorry. I've been in your position and know how much it hurts. Know you gave her a good life and did what was in her best interest. You were the best thing to have happen to her.

I’m so sorry! They bring us so much love, but they leave too soon.

Straw's avatar

They do. So now I am crying a bit for Joe King's loss.

Val Uptuous NotAgain's avatar

Hugs to you. Poor little baby. Losing pets is very painful.

Linda's avatar

I’m so sorry for your loss. They may be small, but have a huge impact in our lives 💔

OwossoHarpist's avatar

Is your cat all better now, or do you had to sadly euthanize her?

Joe King's avatar

Had to euthanize. After surgery last December to remove all the lumps, it came back.

John Smith's avatar

We mourn with you, never easy to lose a member of your family!😔

OwossoHarpist's avatar

*hugs*

So sorry for your loss.

NOGODZ20's avatar

This day is off to a bad start. Aside from the Iran debacle, you lose a member of the family and Zorgin is saying goodbye for awhile.

Gods, I’m depressed.

Stacy's avatar

So sorry about your cat.

Brianna Amore's avatar

Ugh. So sorry to hear this. It's so hard to put down a fur baby.

Bensnewlogin's avatar

Sorry to hear that. I have gone through that myself. You gave her the best gift of love you could.

So sorry, Joe. We had that situation last summer with our dog. I still miss her.

Joe,

I am so sorry. I know we can't help today, but we understand your pain and hope for it to ease as your heart heals.

Sorry to hear that. Loosing a friend is always hard. She had good company in her life.

May her memory bring smiles.

I am so sorry about your kitty. That's tough.

The scariest thing about John Hagee is far less the crap that comes out of his mouth than it is the number of people who actually LISTEN to him and hang on his every word. These are people who have surrendered their judgment and any vestige of skepticism to his ravings, swallowing it all whole, virtually without a thought.

I type those words and wish they weren't true. That'd be nice, wouldn't it?

Stephen Brady's avatar

Hagee is totally amoral. He has been spewing his christianist bilge for years. Like Pavlov’s dogs, his flock of knuckle draggers dutifully slobber all over themselves and give him money. If there were a market for different bilge, he’d spew that too. And, all the while the entire lot of them couldn’t scrape together one rational thought.

oraxx's avatar

I didn't see your comment when I posted mine. We said about the same thing, but then GMTA! ;)

Trisha's avatar

I know that church well. The congregants don’t care about truth that’s in front of their eyes because they’re too busy living for the Kingdom of Heaven. That’s their only focus. They’re so focused on that that they fail (or refuse — you decide) to see they could apply the rest of the Bible (specifically Jesus’s teachings) right outside their front door. San Antonio is a poor city. There is much need here. But Hagee’s church is built in one of the more affluent areas. Hagee himself does not live in that area. He lives in the Dominion — the most affluent neighborhood just NW of San Antonio.

Hagee … FARK !

If I wasn’t stuck with ME/CFS in my cave 24/7, I’d love to get out and observe at close hand some of these idiots.

I wonder if I could control myself ?

Unfortunately I’ve never been lucky enough to have had the opportunity. (COUGH, PUKE)

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

James,

I'm starting to ask those same questions about myself.

After avoiding them for 68 years...

oraxx's avatar

Hagee has a long history of stepping up to explain God’s motives to we lesser mortals. To-date, he’s never been right about anything. While it’s easy to be disgusted by religious demagogues like Hagee, the real blame rests with the gullible fools in the pews who fund and enable him. Compulsive believers pose a far bigger threat to the world than compulsive liars.

Stephen Brady's avatar

It’s kind of an ouroboros relationship. Which goes first? The snake or its tail?

NOGODZ20's avatar

Hagee's blaming immigrants?

Somebody slap him with Leviticus 19:33-34 of his hole-y bible. His own god told its followers NOT to mistreat foreigners living among them. He said foreigners were to be treated as native-born and to be loved.

15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers came in on tourism visas from Saudi Arabia, during a time when the State department recorded very few visa overstays from Saudi (and of course essentially no prior organized attacks on the U.S. by Saudi nationals). We think they had forged passports (only a couple were recovered), but the CIA and FBI had not told CBP to look out for these types of forgeries at the time, so CBP had no way of knowing.

So they would not have been stopped by any amount of rational, added illegal immigration enforcement.

This was basically wealth tourism from an allied country. Unless we wanted to stop low-risk tourism, we wouldn't have stopped these guys. Heck TODAY we probably wouldn't stop a tourism visa from Saudi. But Hagee and his ilk love to play Captain Hindsight.

Linda's avatar

Also, it’s these wars we start that make things like 9/11 possible in the first place. Americans like to think you can go to someone else’s country and blow them up with no consequences. Consequences aren’t always immediate. When nut jobs were running around saying 9/11 was an inside job, there is a kernel of truth in there. If you build your home under an active volcano, you shouldn’t be surprised when there’s lava in your living room.

Except when He apparently said the exact opposite:

Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to possess, and He drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you— / and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you to defeat them, then you must devote them to complete destruction. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy.

Deuteronomy 13:15,16 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword…

...and most of Joshua. But that was about how to behave in other people's countries. Once you have stolen the country and killed or enslaved the original inhabitants THEN you can be better behaved towards the new foreigners.

Mercurial, isn't he? Just like you-know-who.

Beth Sandman's avatar

Hegseth’s generals told their junior officers the same thing. They have already created the Crusades.

Brianna Amore's avatar

Yup. We don't have a Department of Defense any longer. Now it's the Department of Holy War.

Charles Newman's avatar

Onward Christian soldiers, the Crusades are here again keeping the fear alive. It would please Hegseth greatly if everyone in the United States military is Christian.

All thanks to a US military that spends millions of tax dollars on certain Religions every year no questions asked. High ranking clergy, buildings and building maintenance on most bases. Separation of Church and does not apply.

God Bless Pete?

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

Beth,

Nice (but unfortunate) catch!

Actually, I'm starting to wonder if RFK, Jr's. childhood vaccination scheme will someday be called the "MAGA Children's Crusade".

After all, the death toll may be immensely greater than in the original Children's Crusades...and that's NOT easy! (And some of us were silly enough to think the death toll for Covid, with its mass graves, would suffice by filling the gaping black hole in Trump's chest.)

Hagee’s congregation gets fed this bullshit weekly. It’s alarming, of course, but something that’s been going on for some time. His influence in the halls of the White House and pentagon is what is news. But the true problem is that this message is being forced onto the servicemembers that are going to this war. The MFFRF is receiving an inordinate number of complaints about briefings being apocalyptic Christian propaganda. We absolutely need to push back on Hagee for his sermons, but we need to cut his ties to our government tout suite. His bromance with Kegsbreath needs addressing. What am I saying!?! This regime, every single member, needs to be removed , prosecuted and sentenced harshly. Alas, they will likely get away with it. This regime is working to be worse than the Nazis and they will be held even less accountable. Netanyahu’s regime requires even harsher penalties than Trump’s, and he’s been doing his crimes far longer, and still no one will bother.

It's enjoyable watching people like this attempt to explain themselves when their predictions don't come true. Any rational person would eventually understand that they're making bad predictions. But not these people. What's worse is how many people still believe in these predictions.

Brianna Amore's avatar

"Any rational person". And therein lies the problem. These zealots are NOT rational in any way, shape, or form. They twist and cherrypick the Bible to justify their hatred and cruelty, and attack anyone who disagrees with them. Reagan allowed them into the Republican Party back in 1980 and it's been downhill ever since.

John Smith's avatar

Fine, if war with Iran is part of goddybitch’s plan. Then draft Hagee’s children (if they are old enough) to go and fight this war. If that happens I am willing to bet he and his snot nosed brats would run so fast to the Canadian border that a sonic boom would be the result. Should the Hagee family cross into Canada, the Canadian border authorities should ARREST THEM AS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! See how a MAGAS like to be treated as an illegals (bet the screams would be heard all the way to International Space Station).

John Smith's avatar

Or if Hagee and family run to the Mexican border, the Mexican border police should arrest them as illegal immigrates. Either way, this fuckwit and family shouldn’t get away from not serving the military since it is part of goddybitch’s plan to fight in Iran!

OwossoHarpist's avatar

This is the preacher who spoke bad about the Poke'mon and Harry Potter Franchises even though he never really played any of the Nintendo games at all or read JK Rowling's book (unless he discovers that she is hardcore trans and homophobic who joined a Christian cult group of some sort. Then he'll likely read the books and crow about how incredible they are, confirming his blatant hypocrisy).

Kristi Noem’s Goat's avatar

He didn’t mention pedophiles in his sermon I’m guessing.

Psittacus Ebrius's avatar

Okay Hagee - are you willing to lead the ground forces in battle? Or are you like so many others who praise these wars as long as someone else does the fighting? Non-combatants have already been killed in this war including school children. How is that acceptable to you? Is this part of your god's plan? Anyone who preaches the vile drivel that you do should be exiled to Siberia.

wreck's avatar

What did Siberia do to deserve that?

Troublesh00ter's avatar

Who are YOU kidding? Hagee's one of those asshats who LOVES to talk the talk, but he hasn't a tenth of the cojones needed to walk the walk.

Just a bag of hot air.

NOGODZ20's avatar

Would anybody be terribly shocked to discover that this married/divorced/remarried hypocrite never served in the military? Anyone?

wreck's avatar

Or that there's a young boy and/or a dead girl in his past?

Boreal's avatar

I would wager he is also a pedophile.

Bloodthirsty ignoramus.

Lots of complexities about the current war effort, but three things stand out as clear to me.

(a) Jesus preached individuals should be pacifistic. Vs. his followers, whose gleeful bloodthirst is extraordinarily offensive. FFS even if you think the strikes are good geopolitical idea, the killings should be seen as a necessary cost, not a movie to enjoy.

(b) God doesn't need the U.S. President to do anything if he really wanted to bring about Luke's apocalypse. If he wants it to happen, it'll just happen. Or does Hagee reject God's omnipotence?

(c) If this was the apocalypse, that provides no moral defense whatsoever for the US action. Arguably, in fact, it does the opposite - painting it as immoral. For these war acts to start the apocalypse would imply that the nations of the world have now strayed so far from God's intent that he felt it necessary to start his final intervention.

Then again, bloody-mindedness has a long Christian pedigree. Tertullian, Aquinas, and many others all talked about how Christians would enjoy watching the suffering of the damned. Hagee's pretty much following in their footsteps.
