Sports Announcer Who Used Racist Slur Says He's Baptist
That's not a defense, it's an explanation.
An Arkansas lawmaker introduced a bill that would allow for public school teachers to “teach creationism as a theory of how the earth came to exist.” Even more surprising? That’s not currently how science is taught in Arkansas. (We kid, we kid...)
Here are the results of the study you didn’t know you wanted conducted: The Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, in a study titled “Linking Evangelical Subculture and Phallically Insecure Masculinity Using Google Searches for Male Enhancement,” finds that as the evangelicals-per-capita goes up, so do Google searches for “male enhancement,” “ExtenZe,” and “penis pump.” (Christ is, indeed, risen.)
The racist basketball announcer who called kneeling athletes the N-word in a hot mic has released a press statement clarifying that he’s a member of a Baptist church and suffers from type 1 diabetes.
Republican Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana opposed a bill calling for enhanced background checks for gun purchases because the Biblical character Cain killed his brother Abel with his bare hands and that proves… nothing. It proves nothing.
Never mind that he’s talking about a work of fiction, if Higgins believes humans are innately violent and can commit atrocities to the same extent without guns, it begs the question of why he opposes restrictions. Obviously he sees there are circumstances where having a gun is advantageous, yet he can’t admit there’s an equal and opposite liability.
Right-wing radio host E.W. Jackson moving the goal post from being immune to COVID because of his faith, to catching COVID and surviving because of his faith.
Brevard Public Schools in Florida updated district guidelines in order to protect the rights of LGBTQ students and give them the supportive environment they deserve. Which, as you can imagine, didn’t go over too well with the loving Christians of Florida who showed up to the recent district board meeting to protest and yell transphobic slurs.
Remember when Christians used to talk this way about Jesus?
Finally, I would like to know the answer to this too. For science.
