I don't know what happened, and I don't particularly care. I do know from long personal experience that the word of religious nut cases like Walters is absolutely worthless. These people become so convinced they're doing the lord's work they can easily rationalize an excuse for their dishonesty. I have read a lot of history, and I know of no instance where imposing religion on people ever had a happy ending. Never the less, there is always a new crop of fools who have convinced themselves they know how to do it right, and should be allowed to do so.

Very true, and that's why more often than not their religiosity is just a smoke screen to hide the fact they want to impose their will on people for reasons that have nothing to do with what their religion supposedly teaches.

Frim the linked article about Walters' teacher test: 𝑊𝑎𝑙𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠’ 𝑝𝑢𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑑 “𝐴𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑎-𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡” 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑑𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑖𝑛 𝑂𝑘𝑙𝑎ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑎 𝑝𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑠𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙𝑠 𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑏𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠:

I hope the test involves essay questions and not multiple choce steering the answers to his preferred outcome. Knowledge of the Constitution is something Walters lacks. Any reasonable adult applying to teach should have knowledge of the Constitution, especially to protect their students' rights against Walters' mandates. An understanding of American exceptionalism really only applies to history teachers, and there they should be able to articulate what it is and why it isn't real. That last point? Oh boy. Walters wants all the teachers to regurgitate his kindergarten level ideas about sex and gender. It would take several paragraphs on this test to explain to him why his ideas are wrong, and what the actual biological reality is. And he would get angry at the answer and quote Kindergarten Cop: "Boys have a penis and girls have a vagina!" All while failing to understand that that isn't always true.

There sure are plenty of reasons to despise this Christian creep. Th one I always point to is his culpability in the death of Nex Benedict, a non-binary 16-year-old who was assaulted by other students at Owasso High School and would die the following day.

All because of the anti-LGBTQ Walters policy that prevented kids at that school from changing their sex/gender in school records. Also because he hired the equally-anti-LGBTQ Libs of TikTok Chaya Raichik to an Oklahoma-wide library advisory board. Her inflammatory rhetoric has been directly linked to homophobic/transphobic threats, violence and attempted terrorist attacks. And Walters directly enabled her.

Too bad there really isn't a hell for these two to rot in.

Raichik was complaining that a state rep was warning constituents about the location of ICE in her state, Raichik accused her of doxxing. The hypocrisy is astounding, or is it projection, of Chaya Raichik getting upset over someone doxxing. Libs of TikTok is a doxxing platform, she just doesn’t like it when the dox is on the other foot. Not that what the rep was doing was doxxing, she was warning her constituents about an illegal threat to their liberty, and not posting the identities of the ICE agents, where they live, and personal /family info.

These people are beyond words evil.

"automatically launched Samsung’s free streaming service and began playing a film that contained explicit content"

DM had a smart TV, not a Samsung, but it's not how hers works. First, smart TVs are childproofed by default, and sometimes you can't turn the childproofing off. DM had to enter a pin to view any channel deemed unsafe (with violent action movies as an example). So the probability of a TV showing a movie adult content upon being turned on ? Sorry, I don't buy it.

It's said further, wanker had this TV for months. Either he didn't turned it on at all, then it will show the settings. He doesn't use it very often, he will get the main with all the streaming services available. He uses it regularly, when turned on, he will end on the last channel he watched, or the streaming services main pages if he watched something on Netflix.

Walters is a despicable person, too gleeful regarding the death of a student in his state just because they weren’t following the black and white gender roles he demands of the world, unapologetically slandering his peers is not at all surprising.

Why would a television automatically open to an adult movie channel? I’m still not completely convinced this was so benign since Samsung hasn’t confirmed the channel was the default on their televisions. I will concede that Walters was unaware it was playing, but I still don’t think he didn’t watch this on taxpayer time.

I stand by what I said about having this type of imagery in the workplace, it can’t be written off as simple hypocrisy it is an intentional act to make women uncomfortable in the workplace. Which is something that the right is actively pursuing, to keep women out of public life and home with as many children as they can bear. Walters just isn’t obviously doing this intentionally. His other behaviors, policies and actions, however, support the idea that women should be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen.

We will never get an apology out of him, not even a performative notpology. He’s a MAGA chud, there are no apologies allowed. Confidently spew lies, misinformation, accusations, and insults, and when called out double down hard. Then, when all else fails, project, project, project. Spice it all up with a little gaslighting and you’re golden. He needs these controversies to go big, anyway. How else will he get the tangerine toadstool’s attention if he isn’t martyred publicly for the Trump cause. I hate to say it, the only reason this didn’t work was because the sex scandal wasn’t about children. The republicans are having to focus on child sex abuse to the point of ignoring anything else. There’s a new Republican getting caught with a minor, or conspiring to cover up for someone caught with a minor every week lately, and that’s before we talk about the list.

From what Hemant says, it wasn't an adult channel. It was a pay per view movie channel that was showing an action movie that had nipples etc. in it. So something analogous to a new TV automatically giving you a free trial HBO offer, and oh look Game of Thrones is on.

But you're right, we'll probably never see an apology out of him for claiming everyone else was lying about it, or his accusations that the Governor was in a secret conspiracy with liberals to make that happen. His real ire should be directed at the conservative no-regulation market which allows pay per service streaming services to auto-load onto your TV, automatically sign you up, and then forces you to do something to turn them off and stop paying.

Expand full comment
Val Uptuous NotAgain's avatar

Okay, but I don’t think that the television would automatically turn on to that channel. Most new televisions turn on to the last channel you viewed when you turned it off, smart televisions turn on to a menu page and you have to select the streaming service and then program/show you want to watch. Even if they’re tricking you to pay for a subscription you didn’t request, it doesn’t automatically pop up when you turned the tv on.

And I don’t see anyone else actually ask this, but why was the television on in the first place? If it was so that he could share his screen to show visuals in the meeting, fine, but then it shouldn’t have any movies playing and if he wasn’t using it in this meeting the tv should have been off. So there’s no reason this should have even happened at all.

Hemant tells us it was relatively newly purchased equipment.

It's also pretty typical nowadays for corporations and government offices to buy a full service smart TV to use as a computer monitor for meetings. Doing so allows you to turn it onto CNN or something like that when people just want to congregate in the meeting room on their break, or to entertain meeting participants who come early to the meeting. Frankly, I don't think I've seen a truly "dumb monitor" used to project in quite a few years. It's always a big full service flatscreen TV, if it's not a movie-style projector.

Still, even if everything is kosher, it probably at a minimum means that the school administration's IT team screwed up, by not setting up and testing the new equipment before the superintendent started using it. Another possibility is that they did, Walters turned the TV features back on later, and so this snafu was not 'watching porn at work' but may have been 'goofing off at work.'
