Religiously Unaffiliated Voters Could Be the MVPs of Next Week's Election
If we turn in our ballots, that is.

The Right-Wing Christian legal group American Center for Law and Justice, founded by Pat Robertson, has begun producing Sesame Street knock-off videos for children— presumably to brainwash them.
The latest video is an enthusiastic lesson on the Electoral College, with no mention of how it benefits Republicans who lose the popular vote. Hence the kids’ propaganda video at a time when abolishing the E.C. is catching traction again.Preachers are weaseling their way into some Florida public schools by using the unsuspecting code title “character coaches.” They think they’re being clever by infiltrating a secular zone to preach to entire school athletic teams, but their big dumb mistake is that they can’t not brag on social media.
Luckily the Freedom From Religion Foundation is on it and has sent the Osceola School District a letter warning them to end the “unconstitutional religious promotion.”
I was excited to see this in an interview with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
This interview with @SethMacFarlane gives a shout-out to "Letting Go of God" by Julia Sweeney (@JIsbackintown), and I couldn't agree more. Amazing show. I've recommended it to so many people. the-talks.com/interview/seth…In case you haven’t seen or heard “Letting Go of God,” it’s a wonderful go-away-from-Jesus memoir that will make you laugh and cry. An excerpt is here, but you should listen to the whole thing!
Televangelist Kenneth Copeland thanked Jesus for making Trump immune to COVID, confusing actually having had the virus with immunity. But Copeland’s budding future as a virologist really goes off the rails when he concludes that Trump taking-one-for-the-team has granted all Christians a “Holy Spirit immunity.” (That’s not a thing.)
It’s cool that religiously unaffiliated Americans are on the rise, but it’s even cooler when they pull their weight at the voting booth. According the Pew Research, the “unaffiliated” make up 38% of registered Democratic voters. The question now is how many of them — us — will show up on Election Day.
Further considering the religious to non-religious shift in our country, Tif Ho, the Executive Director of Foundation Beyond Belief, has a guest post up on Friendly Atheist making a call for more non-religious volunteers to fill the void left by the decline in religious charities.
Here’s another case of overt proselytization in public schools, this time in Oklahoma. The American Humanist Association filed a federal lawsuit against the Maryetta Public Schools for hosting a monthly “Missionaries” program where Christian missionaries would enter classrooms during school hours and preach for up to an hour at a time.
This all came to light when a 5-year-old girl began an alarming conversation with her atheist parents by asking about God because “these people came and sang songs and told us a story about God and how he’s real.”It’s starting how much Bevelyn Beatty enjoys the attention she gets for being hateful. This is the same woman who went on a homophobic tirade after her court hearing for “misdemeanor residential picketing” at Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s house, and who also vandalized Black Lives Matters murals in NYC.
Well, she’s back and more belligerent than ever, targeting Joe Biden and fam for pedophilia, sexual abuse, witchcraft, and the Illuminati. Honestly, it’s flattering she thinks he has time for all that while going all over the country for his campaign.Madison Cawthorn may be a conservative Christian congressman-in-waiting after next week… but not if his conservative Christian college classmates can help it! I explain everything in this video:
Finally, if you or your kids are fans of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, the latest book, out this week, includes a friendly jab at the Noah’s Ark myth:
