It’s been a year since preacher Todd Bentley, a man who once said kicking women in the face was a way to heal them, was removed from his own ministry for allegedly trying to pay his male and female interns for sex. Well, ready or not, he’s back at the pulpit after “a series of angelic encounters.”
Creationist Matt Powell is so hung up on disproving evolution with “surfing monkeys” that he’s made a corny 3-minute film of him changing the mind of an atheist antagonist character by telling him to Google “when monkeys surfed.”

Right-wing activist and former Colorado state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt believes God wanted Trump to win reelection, yet the devil’s will won over. Where does God’s omnipotence stand now?
“I do believe God wanted Donald Trump to be reelected,” Klingenschmitt said. “I think it was God’s will, and yet sometimes in this fallen world, the devil wins, and God’s perfect will is not always done on Earth. I think it’s an abomination now that someone with a demonic spirit of, for example, transgenderism — Joe Biden is now promoting boys going into girls’ locker rooms in public school. He is promoting abortion on demand with taxpayer funding to kill innocent children. He is going to harm Israel in their unique calling in the world.”
“That is the devil’s will who is ruling in the White House right now when, I believe, President Trump was for God on those issues,” Klingenschmitt proclaimed.
Franciscan priest Casey Cole stirred up controversy among his people when he posted this video calling out “pro-life” Christians who have “done extremely un-Christ-like things in order to gain ground on this issue.”
The Southern Baptist Convention is calling their own Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission a “significant distraction” partly because the commission’s “disrespectful and condescending” leader Rev. Russell Moore dared to defend the religious freedom of Muslims.
I recently spoke with actress Alice Greczyn, whose new memoir Wayward is all about her escape from fundamentalist Christianity and purity culture. It’s really an incredible story and this interview I did with her will stick with me for a long time.
The self-cannibalism has begun…
Newsmax invites Mike Lindell, who advocated for a coup and spews dangerous conspiracy theories, on air. It didn't go well. You kids are never going to believe this, but there was a time when people didn’t have a least favorite pillow.
Finally, pseudoscience purveyor Dr. Oz has been announced as a future guest host of Jeopardy!, and the folks at Last Week Tonight decided to retweet an old segment about him…
