• CBS News produced a 30-minute documentary on the merging of politics and religion in the U.S. titled “The Right’s Fight to Make America a Christian Nation.” While the documentary does a great job of framing opposing viewpoints, there’s a perspective that is notably missing: the non-religious. Atheist groups like the American Humanist Association and the Freedom From Religion Foundation make up no small fraction of legal thwarting when it comes to church and state separation infractions across the country. It would have been a better final product had CBS included their perspectives.

  ... This was after a lot of atheist activists campaigned hard for her, too. Whether it's the filibuster or the minimum wage, she's repeatedly turned her back on the people who put her in office. She's better than a Republican, but she's not better than a progressive Democrat.

• Conspiracy theorist DeAnna Lorraine, who is not educated in any medical field, plans to walk around stores maskless while impersonating a nurse in order to harass low-paid frontline workers who ask her to put on a mask.

“Today was the first day basically that the governor of the state that I’m in right now — the governor of Texas — issued an executive order saying that we will no longer have or need a mask mandate in all of Texas,” Lorraine said. “Today was basically day one, and that’s why I’m wearing a nurse’s outfit because I’m going around and I’m videotaping me going to different stores, restaurants, department stores, bars, etc… and videotaping people’s reactions to me not wearing a mask and having them try to educate a doctor or a nurse on how masks save lives.”

“Tell me, a doctor or a nurse, how masks somehow save lives,” said Lorraine, who is neither a doctor nor a nurse. “You go ahead, you Walmart store clerk, you go ahead, you grocery store bagger, and you tell me something that I don’t know already — you try to school me on something that I went to school for.”
