Imagine seeing this slovenly, unkempt goober and thinking he should give you moral guidance on any issue, especially accusing others of being groomers, all the while he is molesting your children.

I hear what you're saying, but don't be TOO quick to judge by appearances. House Speaker Mike Johnson is probably the most clean-cut, well-groomed man you'll ever meet, and he personally is doing more damage to America than a dozen Silas Sheltons.

It is a little cult. These guys want to be in the pulpit because they have a deep-seated need to tell other people what to believe and do. They are sick, damaged individuals. Patriarchal, authoritarian... I cannot say enough bad things about them, but certain credulous people are drawn in. Critical thinking is hard work for them and to have a 'friend' who did the hard work for them and can tell them what to believe gives them reassurance. It is also a birds-of-a-feather phenomenon. Authoritarians are most comfortable hanging together so they won't be criticized for their mean and crazed beliefs.

If P-ass-tor Pervo is so worried about what books are in libraries, then have I got a doozy for him. One with a woman who fantasizes about men with penises the sizes of donkeys and ejaculations like stallions.

A book where two virgin daughters get their "righteous" father drunk and have sex with him, both winding up pregnant by him. Keep in mind that this same righteous man previously offered up those 2 virginal daughters to a rape mob in order to protect two male strangers.

A book full of incest. Incest that supposedly populated the world. Twice. A book where Abraham marries his half-sister Sarah, where Isaac marries his cousin Rebecca and where Jacob marries not one but two cousins (Leah and Rachel). Oh, and there's also Amram and Jochebed (Jochebed was Abram's aunt).

That's just the sexual aspect. There is all manner of horrific content in this book that needs to be kept out of the reach of children.

"Silas Shelton said being gay was a "health risk." All the while, police say he was targeting a little girl who attended his church."

Hemant, you should know the difference by now. Two consenting adults in a SSR are disgusting, while raping or abusing little girls and underage teens is biblical.

"we’re not allowed to talk about the health risk of kids being gay."

It is, only because of bigots like him.

"You take a young man or a young… girl"

Interesting phrasing. Show this opinion of the female gender (only cis, because of course trans people don't exist 🙄).

Bottom line it’s about White Supremacy and creating a White ethnostate by increasing the domestic supply of White infants, as SCOTUS justices have admitted. To that you have to ban homosexuality and impregnate teenage girls. And it’s not just Christians: Peter Thiel’s idiotic former employees, atheist PA Republican candidate Simone Collins and her husband Malcolm, want to take over the Isle of Man to breed “high IQ” children—by spacing pregnancies too closely together for brain health and using corporal punishment, also known to impair children’s learning. Don’t ever let tech people tell you they are “smart.”

Expand full comment
Lynn Veit's avatar

Someone should remind this asshole that underage girls experience far more problematic pregnancies than adult women. The stress on an adult woman's body is significant, but the stress on a young girl whose body is still growing and maturing can be dangerous.

Whenever I think about the lengths those Republican assholes went to, to try to punish the doctor who provided the 10-year old rape victim an abortion, I want to scream.

Edited for missing word.

Expand full comment
Val Uptuous NotAgain's avatar

They also ignore that the science is now finding many of the pregnancy complications stem more from problematic sperm, especially the sperm from older gentlemen, than from the health history of the women. They also have found that the eggs don’t get worse from age, the genetic quality doesn’t change over time, but sperm quality, increases of mutations in sperm, does change as the man ages.

RFK recently tried to say that the young men (18-20something) are less virile than elderly men (teens have less testosterone than 65 year olds blah blah) and that girls are hitting puberty 6 years earlier nowadays. He’s trying to usher in selling our daughters to old men in their tweens and teens to increase the birth rate because that is the optimum mix. Which is the opposite of reality.
