I’m going to go out in a limb and say an employee who hangs a sign that says “Allahu Akbar” is not going to get the same deference as one who puts “Jesus saves” in their email signature.

Stop it. A sign that says “Allahu Akbar” is anti-Cristian bias! 🤣

True. They were only thinking about christians when making this law. They would be less inclined to permit it if it were anyone else.

Of course this is only for Christians. They’re following Project 2025, an evangelical Christian playbook specifically written to setup a Christian theocracy in the USA. We are just rolling along the rollercoaster in the Christian funhouse of death and destruction. No one will be left standing inside, only the oligarchs and wealthy preachers who built it are standing outside the mirrored doors, and all they do is preen themselves.

No one will want to work for the government, especially not the folks who aren’t fundie Christians, and leave. Making the department or services fail, all the more easy to eliminate it, avoid whatever investigations they have pending, remove the supports for the working class to lean on in times of need, and cut the taxes for only those who can afford to pay them.

The tipping point is coming. Folks are beginning to get uncomfortable, and there’s going to be hell to pay when we all break. The MAGAts are dropping off like flies because of Epstein, it won’t be all of them, but enough are already waking up. So let’s not forget, Trump is in the Epstein files. He can’t distract with this either.

Amen.

Sadly, I’m not sure there is a tipping point for those in the MAGA cult. Perhaps, for some on the outskirts still.

In my view, it is NEVER okay to force your religious views on anyone, least of all in the work place! This is going to backfire though. People simply do not like having other people force their religion on them. The born again crowd will, of course, play the poor, persecuted victims of the godless left.

The Christian Bible explicitly directs christians to leave anyone alone who isn’t ready to hear. Evangelicals don’t care what Jesus taught.

Pretty sure I shared this before so….sorry!

I worked for a bank. The branch I spent more time in than any other had an employee who was Hindu. She was very outgoing and we had a great working relationship. Lots of joking. One day she and I were alone in the break room and I asked her if I could ask her about Hinduism. She visibly froze up. She said something about being happy being Hindu. I immediately understood that she had been proselytized by Christians. I told her I was atheist, my wife was Jewish, and all I wanted to do was learn about Hinduism from an actual Hindu. She relaxed and after that we spent many an hour talking about Hinduism, but only when we were alone in the break room.

But it was pretty obvious that she had been traumatized by being proselytized by Christians.

“to persuade others of the correctness of their own religious views, provided that such efforts are not harassing in nature”. When is it not harassment? I won’t even talk to those holy trollers when they show up at my door or on the street. I sure as hell wouldn’t tolerate it at my job. If I was still working I’d count to ten then calmly tell them to get fucked.

So they are going after all beliefs and ethical systems they don't like, by claiming they aren't "religious". Union organizers? Prohibited because "socialism". Satanists? Prohibited because "not a real religion". Openly gay? Political, prohibited.

Repetition, I guess.

I'd advise any federal worker who is worried about being proselytized to respond the first time it happens: "Alice/Bob, I do not want to discuss religion during work, now or in the future." Then write a short neutral email to the boss just relaying your choice not to engage in such conversations. That way, the inevitable second time it happens, you can request a formal stop or intervention.

The real major problem with the note, of course, is not the religious coworkers. It's the religious managers.

After reading this, I'm trying to decide which kind of popcorn to make for when the drama gets out of hand.

I've seen people try to proselytize in the workplace before, and it never goes well. Quite honestly, if someone is trying to convince me how great Christianity is, I think I'll find them some of my work to do, because I can't remember any employer ever allowing me to stand around chatting with others about non-work subjects of any kind for any reason. Funny how that 'on fire for JESUS!' just goes right out when you ask for help with 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘; you'd think Christians didn't believe in hard work or something.
