I don't know who disgusts me more, this idiot of a preacher or the people who delegate their thinking to him. If this community blocks his project, as they should, you can count on him playing the poor persecuted victim of the godless left. That farce will result in a windfall of donations from the stupid, uncritical, herd animals who make up his flock.

Nasty. Looks like the judge was bought. When the building does not if if does come crashing down-- hopefully with nobody inside- is he going to say "Looks like God doesnt want us here and we will leave quietly?" Doubt it very much. And he's insulting children to make his daughter look better. Whackjob.

Imagine how many people he could have helped with 4.5 millions, let alone the 10-15 millions* he pretended to have spend.

I am curious on what basis the judge dismissed the (charges ?). Will he bears the responsibility if an accident happens ?

* Let say he modified the buildings to suit his needs, this sum still seems a little too high, even with contractors working 24/7.

Expand full comment
Jim Sanders's avatar

He didn’t lie about the 10-15 million and here is why: the property was purchased for 4.5 million with the problem of inadequate roads and need for expensive permits. That affects the properties value as value is a function legal use.

So god has sent the archangel Michael and Michaels helper angels in the form in the form of judges that will force the roads to be widened to support traffic by gods decree to take the land adjacent to the roads just as Gabriel took Israel. But this time instead of killing all the people owning land next to the road for their homes they use use gods commandment of eminent domain to take the land needed to widen the road and make the new temple of god more valuable.

God realizes he got a lot of bad press with his genocide taking of Israel by Gabriel so this time he will forcibly take land and improvements forcing many owners to leave their homes but he will pay them. God will not pay them with his own money as he has no use for money. Instead his priests will pay these squatters on god’s new highway to his new temple with forced tithings from his flock and others not part of his flock called taxes.

A widened road will be built and paid for by these forced tithings—taxes—and God’s temple will be remodeled and added to increasing the values of the property to 15 million if sold. Also, no taxes will be paid on the church temple increasing its value.

I understand that this temple will go back to the good old days of burnt offering— we all know god just loves the smell of burning flesh—but they will be called BBQs. The money changers will return but now they will not change but just receive through tithings.

God is great. God is great. God is great.

And, these people wonder why their congregations are getting smaller and smaller, and why the number of Christians in America is declining. You just have to look at men like Shuttlesworth to find your answer. Now, they are perfecting the victim role, that their own Dear Leader has perfected in the media. Con men begetting con men in the name of the Almighty. The prosperity gospel is just one long disgusting, perfidious con by the evangelicals that preys on the desperate and ignorant. I guess this is why evangelicals do so well in rural America.

The redistribution of wealth in American under Reagan made the rich richer and the poor poorer, and that ever growing gap left a fertile field of misplaced anger and economic desperation white unto harvest for evangelical grifters. That may be an oversimplification, but Reagan's Trickle-Down Economics helped pave the way for the prosperity gospel conjobs.

I have a hard time being surprised by this bonehead move. That evangelicals feel as though they can run roughshod over other people's privacy to spread The Word™ is old news. That they feel entitled to do as they please with land granted or purchased without considering the local area or impact regarding traffic flow and neighbors is maybe not so old.

And here we go again with accusations and lawsuits and all manner of crap coming down because some hotshot Christian preacher decided he could act with impunity and got caught at it. About all I can do is shake my head at it and be glad they're THERE and I'm NOT.
