It's a "Maternity Ranch" Because Women Are Treated Like Cattle

The Washington Post ran a far-too-friendly profile of Aubrey Schlackman, an evangelical Christian in Texas who’s opening a “maternity ranch” for women who need help after giving birth (presumably against their will). In theory, that sounds great.
But there are so many problems…1) Schlackman is a Trump supporter, which means she opposes the kind of social safety net these women actually need. She doesn’t vote for people who want universal childcare, or paid family leave, or free and accessible contraception, or comprehensive sex education in public schools, or affordable health care. So she’s not actually interested in dealing with the issues. She would rather hand out bandages to a few than prevent injuries for all.
