"Good Christian" Auto Shop Owner Uses Racist Slur in Ad
I would've guessed he was a Christian, to be honest.
The Mormon Church is facing seven separate lawsuits from former Boy Scouts who say they were sexually abused by leaders in their Church-sponsored troops.
Public records show members of church-sponsored Boy Scout troops who were abused would tell church bishops about what they had experienced. The lawsuits allege bishops would then tell the victims to keep quiet so the church could conduct its own investigation. In the meantime, troop leaders and volunteers accused of sex abuse would be allowed to continue in their roles or be assigned to another troop, the suits said.
A Pennsylvania transit system owes $275,000 in attorney fees after an 8-year court battle with atheist Justin Vacula and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Freethought Society. Back in 2018, Vacula submitted an ad to be run on County of Lackawanna Transit System buses, but the ad was rejected for being too “controversial.” How on earth was THIS ad too offensive?
Hey look! It’s you! You’re the Lord Voldemort of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Now that the cat’s out of the bag on Liberty University’s Falkirk Center, the right-wing “think tank” created to defend Donald Trump and promote Christian nationalism, 400 current students and alumni have banded together to call for the university to eliminate the center. The petition sounds like music to any secularist’s ears, saying that “associating any politician or political movement with Christianity bastardizes the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
When the owner of an auto repair shop in Fairfield, California was asked by an Asian-American reporter about his use of the term “China virus” in an ad for free smog checks, he assured her he was “not a racist,” had Chinese friends, and that he was a “good Christian.”
A Bible study group in Martha’s Vineyard is dealing with a COVID outbreak after their leader, Rev. Dan Davey, who “never wore a mask” according to one group member, told everyone that they were “under God’s protection during the Bible study.”
Indeed, as the Bible tells us, it was Lot and his daughters, not Lot and his sons.
The head of the German bishops’ conference, Georg Bätzing, went all willy-nilly on the Catholic Church and called for changes regarding the acceptance of homosexuality, women in ministerial roles, and transparency in handling sexual abuse. In other words, Bätzing is trying to put macOS Big Sur on a Commodore 64—you’ve got to ditch the ancient hardware if you want to keep up with the kids.
Finally, atheists, I bring you the Good News.
