Mr Smith:

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

What part of "no religious test" do you not understand? As much as you would like to disqualify people simply for being non-Christian, The Supreme Court even affirmed that in Torcaso v. Watkins in 1961.

If the only thing you can run on is the fact that your opponent isn't a Christian, that is pretty much the same as admitting that you have no real policy positions, and that your opponent's policy positions are the correct ones.

His advert is a good example of double meaning. Those who would break down the barriers between church and state always seem to operate under the assumption it will be their particular tribe calling the shots for everyone else. They should be imagining the tribe they hate most having control over their lives because that will definitely be a reality for a lot of people. To suggest government needs religion, is to ignore what religious people have done in the name of their religion when they held secular power. You remember that commandment, don't you Smith? They taught it to you in Sunday school. In case you forgot, "Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness" (originally meant just for perjury in judicial trials) applies to ALL forms of lying and is rooted in honesty and integrity. IOW, false witness means lying, equivocating or speaking falsely in ANY matter. Bearing false witness includes spreading rumors, insinuations and slander. Just like you were doing. And this is in WV, which is very red & very X-tian & very rigid. But if you can't keep your religious life separate from your professional life, then what are you actually doing? And my opponent is not a good Christian. She isn't even a Methodist, which on a good day, I suppose can be considered Christian adjacent. No, she is much worse. She values human welfare, dignity, and potential, and believes that people should treat each other with kindness and respect. Unbelievable. Can you believe that my opponent does not believe that you are all worthless sinners deserving to be tortured by the most extreme methods for an eternity? She simply does not understand or comprehend that every one of you sinners is irredeemable, and there is nothing you can do to earn the love and respect of the only being that matters in the universe. And her appalling beliefs do not stop at the notion that people aren't inherently broken, but did you know that she probably does not support buying her slaves from the peoples around her? She probably doesn't support selling your daughters as it says in the good book. I doubt she would even have the moral fortitude to stone a rape victim. And that is the problem. Can we have an assistant dog catcher who is unwilling to take a new bride out to the town gates and stone her to death if she can not provide a bloody bed sheet? Can we afford that?

I know that quote isn't real. Not because it is a truly awful racist thing to say. Not because it of all stupidity associated with saying something like that. Because someone saying that, even if it were said unironically, is attempting humor. And JD Vance has the same sense of humor that Windows Vista had. If you ask him to tell a joke, you will see the blue screen of death in his eyes and have to wait ten minutes for him to reboot.

Republicans are trying so hard to shake their reputation (well-deserved) as pet-haters.

Did JD pronounce it FAL-uh-full? Which I hear pretty regularly at a Mediterranean fast food place called Mezeh that is way better than any hamburger joint.

Don't ask Alexa or Google to pronounce any Wisconsin city names. It's never right, or even close. It's roughly pronounce: Oh-con-oh-mow-walk as opposed to google's Oak-oh-no-mo-auk.

I don't suppose I should be the one to talk when I live in a state full of cities and towns with indigenous names. ๐Ÿ˜€

I moved from WA to WI, the tough part was getting my Midwest accent back and being able to understand the words with it.

Try to pronounce Okonomiyaki 3 times, the fastest you can ๐Ÿ˜

It should be easier then.

Thank you Hemant for showing the world how utterly backwards, gullible and delusional the people of this part of Florida really are. I just made an out of state contribution to Sarah. She may be able to do alot of good, but She Can't Fix Stupid.

You can't fix stupid, but you can sedate it, hog-tie it and drop kick it into the corner. BTW, how much ketamine does it take to knock out a lizard king?

This question showed up on my quoradigest this morning. "Why are Christians so persecuted in the west? Why is it open season now on Christians?"

It's funny, but during the marriage wars I was told over and over by Christians who wanted to interfere in my life and my family that they merely disagreed with me, but disagreement wasn't hate. Of course, what they justified their disagreement with was indeed hate, and rather insulting because they simply assumed that I was too stupid to know the difference.

But here is the problem. That cross is getting so crowded with poor persecuted Christians that there really isn't much room on it for Jesus anymore. And One only look at the overwhelming evangelical support for Former to see why.

Good quotable.

Feel free to steal it. I did, but only in a Christian way. Besides, I apologized to Jesus. He said it was good.

My friend tells me that Jesus did his stint here, and is done with all that crap. One incarnation of abuse was enough. That makes more sense than the bible to me.
