Hey, Urethrameier...

Your religion does not own the holiday. In fact, Christians ripped off Pagans to get what they think of as Christmas. Fuck you.

Shit, Jeremiah 10:1-5 tells YHVHs followers NOT to cut down and decorate a tree like the pagans.

'Tinsel Town.' Kiefer Sutherland's new film is out soon and will tell you all you need to know about panto. He plays a washed-up filmstar who takes a role in a UK small town pantomime. My 14yo daughter was very shy so I was pleased when her bbf invited her to audition for our local am-dram pantomime. I thought going on stage would help her come out of her shell. All the characters in a panto are flamboyant and loud. She got the part of the back end of Jack and the Beanstalk's cow, clinging on to the bum of the actor playing the front end inside their cow costume bent double....two Christmases running!

Everyone has to start somewhere ….

Re panto and theatres, it’s the income from panto which keeps the theatres going!

And yet, you do not hesitate to disparage non-Christian religions, as well as the non-religious. I guess, like most Christian Nazionalists, you think that the only thing that counts as religious discrimination is when anything dies not bow down and revere your particular variety of Christianity.

Good night, Irene! Did you ever hear such a lame collection of excuses as to why a given form of entertainment has to be cancelled / prohibited / disallowed / whatever? It is yet one more indication of Christians' micrometer-thin skin and utter inability to tolerate anything that they deem "blasphemous." Sum it up, yes, they have excuses galore. What they lack are substantial REASONS.

I have a suggestion for those who are upset about A Drag Queen Christmas: If you don't like it, DON'T GO!!!

A lot of parents took their kids to see Passion of the Christ in theaters years ago. Then the movie was re-released in theaters where all the violent scenes were omitted from the film so the parents can find it easy to take the kids to see the film.

Then the theatres would have to omit the actual crucifixion scene, that scene alone is the stuff of nightmares. Yet, if the theatres did omit that scene then the whole movie makes no sense!

Then again, religion itself makes no sense either!

I keep having flashbacks to my younger years when Texas had " the Blue Laws"- businesses could not open on Sundays, etc. To this day beer cant be sold after or before certain times related to normal church service times.

And there were mandatory prayers in school. Those used to bug me because they always said "in Jesus name" the loudest at the end. I would think " but we dont do that at home". So I stopped saying them.

And when I read in a required text " man emerged from the Fertile Crescent 6000 tears ago" I asked the teacher "where was man before that?" and was told to ask my clergyman.

Pornography was forbidden, and police would raid sellers and adult theatres like they were heroin markets.

Once when one of the last places in this town to sell dirty magazines was being harrassed by picketting members of a Baptist church and threatened by police I decided to deliberately cross their picket line and buy something in this guys shop. I did it because I saw this as an encroachment on peoples rights to buy or sell literature some religion deemed evil. The experience was akin to buying drugs.

I see the same Taliban like legalisms creeping back now.

I refer to these fanatics as "Talibaptists"- polititians and their Dominionists supporters who wish to return this land to pre Constitutional days when one might be killed for being a witch or arrested for heresy. Coincidentally during those good ole days ethnic cleansing via Indigenous Genocide and Slavery were God's will accoding to the Pharisees of the time. Wife beating and child abuse were a man's God given Rights. Etc. Kinda like we are heading toward again, especially in the Republican South.
