It's no surprise he thought he was qualified to work in government when his family is practically large enough to populate their own country. Hell, his experience as an abusive theocratic dictator is pretty much on point for the modern GOP, too!
I don't remember exactly (and it was only a day ago). All I know is I'm commenting, and I didn't pay anything.
There is still a button up top that says subscribe even though I already am. I think it's for a premium subscription (whatever that means) that you have to pay for.
I'm now getting likes and replys from here thru my email, which is gonna complicate things in my email if I post something that turns out to be popular in here (ugh!). Still, it looks like I can come into substack thru the comments, so maybe there's a bright side?
Thanks. Yeah, this is awkward at first, but I'm holding out hope that I can make it work. And maybe restore my avatar pic as well, since it's one more thing I'm used to.
Yeah, and I don't have a twitter account, either. I might have to just move to a different patheos post to keep up with the rest of you, if I can still find you there. I've enjoyed this community a lot, and it looks like this is gonna hurt.
So, Jenna claimed she was arrested because one of the children she was babysitting got out of the house and walked down the street when she was distracted. Who believes her?
Even if it’s true, there are other questions regarding that incident. How many children were in her care? Who else was there as an adult to help care for those children? What was her response to the missing child? How long did it take to realize he/she was missing? What precautions were in place to keep the child from going missing in the first place and why did they fail?
Personally, I don’t believe her that this was the incident she was arrested for, it seems that the police response is bigger than the incident calls for. Especially regarding such an upstanding white Christian family.
It is nice to see these folks eating their own, though.
A friend of mine once looked out his front window and saw a baby wearing nothing but a diaper crawling along the side of the road in front of his house - nobody else in sight. He ran out and grabbed the kid and called the police. Before the police got there, someone knocked on his door. It was the baby's ... mother, I think? ... I don't remember exactly, but a relatively young, female relation. Anyway, it was a neighbour, they were out looking for the baby, said something about having lost track of them, and didn't seem phased by the fact the kid had gotten out of the house and the distance of several houses away, crawling along the side of a fairly busy road, on bare hands and knees.
The police's response to the whole thing was basically, "Baby's back with family, all's well that ends well, see ya!" So yeah, I agree, I highly doubt she was arrested because a kid went for a stroll.
You know how they always used to call Obama "Barak Hussein Obama"? It just occurred to me, Democrats should be calling Doctor Oz "Mohammed Oz" because that's pretty much his name. That'll scare the crap out of all those conservative voters.
Actually, his name is a contraction of Mohammed. Or a transliteration into Turkish I'm not quite sure. As to whether Democrats should do it or not I don't know – and as I don't vote in the US I don't care – but I thought it might be fun.:)
"Jim Bob Duggar was never going to pull out of the race. He doesn't pull out of anything."
ICWYDT
Glad that Jim Bob lost, but the way that republican politics are going these days, the eventual winner will probably be worse.

Just checking in to say that I survived the move.
Hopefully we survive the next step ... but the signs look good
Substack is a bit of a hassle, however. I can only enter via Hemant's twitter posts. If I just try to enter via substack, then they try to charge you.
I click none then something (?) else.
I am sent an email which I click
takes me to the FA hub page where articles are listed.
[sorry that's vaue and possible bad sequencing of steps ... still figuring this out myself]

Sorry in advance for the two incoming emails.
You can turn off email notifications for likes and replies. Click on your avatar and there will be a drop down menu. Click account settings.
Of course, if you do that you'll have to find a different way to get here.
But don't worry, once you get use to substack you can forget it and start getting use to OnlySky.
Thanks. Yeah, this is awkward at first, but I'm holding out hope that I can make it work. And maybe restore my avatar pic as well, since it's one more thing I'm used to.
comments are coming in to 'known spam' which is usually near empty.
I'll leave it as is for this short time.
vaue = vague

looks like posts to patheos FA are shut off
Yeah, since all day I think
Happened on the 15th.
I went through Substack and didn't pay anything. I ignored and continue to ignore all the begs for money.
Testing; testing...

No Damian or Carol Ann ?
It's a long list. I had to cut it short.
Aren’t they all supposed to start with J?
Cletus don't roll that way. : )

456 votes?
Would that be about the size of the Duggar clan?
The clan is bigger, some didn't vote for him. : )
yup, looks like Jim done got bobbed
That's better than getting duggared.
LLLoL
"He spent $37,631 to get 456 votes — at least a good number of which presumably come from people who share his last name."
With or without the ones who are dead ?
That guy must be SOOOO broke! He's offered to support Anna's family, he's got his own family, plus all of Josh's legal bills. And now more debt.
He can crank out the babies, but maybe not crank out the cash so easily.
Not broke enough if he can still con people out of their money.
I suspect he has a reserve from his TV shows? Although at least he probably has to pay tax on that income.
Aren't there any Democrats in that dang state???
Bill Clinton is from there. I don't know if he counts as a Dem. ; )
I'm sure there are a few, but they're probably more outnumbered than we are in Texas
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

the perfect gift for those who have everything.

His name is Mehmet. Other than the first letter it's not even close to Mohammed. Just because the Rs did it doesn't mean the Ds should do it.
Actually, his name is a contraction of Mohammed. Or a transliteration into Turkish I'm not quite sure. As to whether Democrats should do it or not I don't know – and as I don't vote in the US I don't care – but I thought it might be fun.:)
It's the second.
