Christians Plan to Walk in Circles Around the Capitol to Overturn the Election... Again
It didn't work before. It won't work now.
Conservative writer Cheryl K. Chumley of the (conservative) Washington Times wrote a scathing op-ed on Dr. Anthony Fauci, distrusting him because he has publicly admitted to being a humanist, despite his Catholic upbringing.
An atheist in charge of U.S. government, policy, economics, education and constitutional freedoms, as they relate to coronavirus response — what could go wrong, right?
…
He’s unelected. He’s largely unaccountable to the people. He’s atheist, which speaks volumes about his character, his moral compass and his understanding of American Exceptionalism and basic founding and constitutional principles. And he’s just been outed for lying.
The path is clear: He has to go.
That bit about being “outed for lying” isn’t as it seems— Fauci was trying to navigate a complicated vaccination PR problem among the scientifically illiterate, saving the dumbest Americans from themselves.
Now ask yourself: Would a legitimate publication ever allow a writer to slander a government official primarily because of his faith? Or is that just something we’re used to when the subject is non-religious?You have to love it when Christians extremists turn on Mike Pence because he won’t go along with their coup fantasies.
Remember the “Jericho Marches” we told you about last month? Christians who wanted to overturn the election gathered and literally walked in circles seven times in order to undo the election results. Well, that didn’t work for reasons that are obvious to rest of us — and only the rest of us — because they’re doing it again. Only this time they’ll be blowing ram horns as well.
With a poster this poorly designed, there’s zero concern they’ll be able to undo a democratic institution.
Donald Trump released a proclamation on the 850th anniversary of the martyrdom of Saint Thomas Becket, highlighting his stand against England’s oppression of the church as if it in some way relates to the U.S. here and now. And then came this line:
A society without religion cannot prosper. A nation without faith cannot endure — because justice, goodness, and peace cannot prevail without the grace of God.
This sounds a whole lot like advocating for theocracy. All secularists are asking is for people to believe what they want and to leave others the hell alone about it.
Finally, some optimism in the new year:
