  • If you were paying any attention to the Capitol attack two weeks ago, you definitely noticed Jesus was widely displayed— second only to banners with Donald Trump on them.

Yet, the most brazen example of Christian terrorism didn’t surface until yesterday when the New Yorker released a video of inside the House chambers, where a group of violent insurrectionists joined in prayer to thank their “Heavenly Father” for the opportunity to desecrate the epicenter of democracy.

Any day now we should stop assuming that people who are out to do God’s work are necessarily up to good. Among those who violated the Capitol building was self-professed white supremacist and parolee Bryan Betancur, who was granted permission from his parole officer to travel to D.C. to hand out Gideon bibles. Clearly a lie, since Gideons International has stated they do not recruit people to hand out bibles to individuals.

  • Religion has done a great job of destructive multi-tasking lately. While the Protestants are wreaking havoc on our democracy, the Catholics are putting up a solid fight to make sure more people die a preventable death. The Archdiocese of Guadalajara is refusing to censor one of their retired cardinals who took to Facebook to warn that the COVID vaccine contains a microchip with the “mark of the beast” on it.

  • You have to work hard to be this dumb.

So the “most popular” President to ever be elected is actually so unpopular that he has no one showing up for his inauguration but still needs 30,000 bodyguards because he’s so loved? Got it. Only truly insane people believe Biden won anything.

  • False prophet Hank Kunneman had quite the temper tantrum after being proven wrong.

Self-proclaimed "prophet" Hank Kunneman repeatedly prophesied that Trump would be reelected. He continues to insist that Trump will remain in office and declares that if you think he's a false prophet, "then you can take your opinion and you can shove it."

  • Now that there can be no more denial about Joe Biden’s impending presidency, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson dropped a list of conservative fears to let his followers know what’s in store over the next four years… and it’s a long list of hypocrisy, lies, conspiracies, or complaints about things that are actually good for the country.

“… more regulation, less freedom, more taxation, less religious liberty, more socialism, less democracy, more funds for abortion, less support for the sanctity of human life, less funding for the military, more illegal immigration, more restrictions on speech, less patriotism, more wasteful spending, less support for families, more regulations on business, more appeasement of China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea, less support for the electoral college, trillions more dollars for climate nonsense, more LGBTQ propaganda, less moral compunction, more governmental corruption, less oversight of elections, more “cancel culture,” fewer police officers, more gun control…”

We’ll have more on this list tomorrow…

  • If you haven’t seen this yet, enjoy this NSFW bit about religion from Chris Rock’s latest Netflix special:

  • The Brevard County Commissioners in Florida had limited their invocations to Christians-only, until a lawsuit changed that. After taking a three-year hiatus, the invocations are back, but more inclusive. When the Commission meets next week, atheist David Williamson of the Central Florida Freethought Community will be delivering “a message of unity and hope for the community.”

  • Finally, we’ll just leave this here:

i’m sorry but you don’t get to complain about cancel culture if you literally believe in hell
