Bruce Springsteen Wants You to Buy a Jeep and Drive it to a Church in Kansas
This isn't the USA of a 1970s rock album.
A pregnant member of the Satanic Temple is suing the Texas Department of Health Services for violating her First Amendment and Equal Protection rights to a “Satanic Abortion Ritual.” Texas law requires a medically unnecessary ultrasound be performed 24 hours before an abortion. According to the lawsuit, the law interferes with TST’s Fifth Tenet, “Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world,” and the Third Tenet, “One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.”
Okay, who put up this job listing…?
Bruce Springsteen gave up his 71-year streak of not appearing in commercials only to go full-shill for Jeep with tone-deaf platitudes of unity in this overtly Christian Nationalist Super Bowl LV ad:
Christian parents are blowing their tops over American Girl’s 2021 “Girl of the Year” Kira Bailey, a doll with a fictional backstory that includes an extended family detail about her lesbian aunts who married “after the law was changed to allow it.”
It’s fun that conservatives haven’t yet realized they’re not the marketing force they once were and they now do the rest of us the favor of highlighting LGBTQ-friendly brands.
You might be hopelessly obsessed with the 2020 election results if you can’t even enjoy the Super Bowl without finding clues that Donald Trump may still have a chance at remaining president.
It’s time for Genesis 46 with Hemant— no barf bag necessary.
Finally, this is a real image from a recent megachurch service. Can you figure out what’s going on?
