Black Republican Atheist Councilman Arrested on Bribery Charges
We're shocked... that there's an elected Black Republican atheist.

It’s now over four days since Joe Biden was declared president-elect, yet pastors everywhere are still in deep denial. (More on that on the website tomorrow.)
Others, like MAGA cultist Josh Bernstein, want every ballot counted after 11:59 p.m. on November 3rd thrown out, martial law declared, and the armed military deployed. Or, “get rid of the entire election — 100 percent, every state — you do a complete redo, and you have the election on January 3.”
Losing is hard. Losing is even harder when you think you’re superior, which seems to be what we’re watching unfold. Conservative egos are in their death throes and it’s time for them to accept they’ve fallen out of the majority, as well as God’s preference.
Does Religious Right leader Tony Perkins know what screenshots are? Because they’re not his friend.
Here's Christian Right leader Tony Perkins saying today that "Candidate Biden has not yet been elected president." He was celebrating "victory" moments after the election was called (by the media) in 2016. Tony Perkins is a Christian hypocrite.Have you heard of the atheist, Jewish, Black, gay, polyamorous, Republican councilman?
*Feverishly flips through cryptozoology field guide.*No, he’s not a mythical creature — he’s just super wishy-washy and possibly a bit attention-seeking. Cincinnati City Councilman Jeff Pastor is all of these things, he claims, and he may soon add “felon” to the list. The FBI arrested Pastor for “a brazen bribery scheme involving payoffs for help with city development projects.”
Pastor is charged with each of the 10 counts in the indictment: one count of conspiring to commit honest services wire fraud (up to 20 years in prison), two counts of honest services wire fraud (up to 20 years), three counts of bribery (up to 10 years), three counts of attempted extortion by a government official (up to 20 years) and one count of money laundering (up to 20 years).
As rare and precious as atheists are when they win an elected office, you can feed this unicorn to the lions.
What is going on with Canada lately? Every 5 years or so they send us a new pop star to pollute our airwaves, but they're otherwise pretty quiet neighbors.
That is, until banning conversion therapy comes up in a bill and suddenly all the bigoted Canadian conservatives are coming out of the woodwork, trying to give U.S. bigots a run for their money.Hudson Byblow is an “ex-gay, ex-trans” public speaker who advocates for chastity, but not a denial of same-sex attractions. Instead, he wants LGBTQ people to view those feelings as sinful, sick, and broken, and to commit to a life of struggle against one’s own nature. You can watch his video testimony here, but personally, I’d rather listen to Canada’s slightly less-odious export, Nickelback.
Finally, a reminder: Not everything has to be political.
