Abortion is bad; a deadly pandemic is fine.

Sorry Pastor George Pearsons, sermon performances are not eligible for Academy Award nominations.
Now that the eagerly awaited COVID vaccine is almost here, Tennessee Republicans want to pass a bill that would allow people to claim a “right of conscience” to avoid getting it — including parents who could request an exemption for their children. Currently, there’s a religious exemption for vaccines but those don’t apply in the case of an “epidemic or immediate threat of an epidemic.” The new bill would eliminate that epidemic override and give people more ways to avoid the vaccine.
Leave it to Republicans to do the most damage possible in pursuit of “freedom.”What did I just watch?
The Supreme Court declined to hear The Satanic Temple’s abortion case. The Satanists were hoping to overturn Missouri’s medically unnecessary abortion laws but the Court refused to hear it. To be fair, though, given the Court’s makeup, that may be for the best.
Pastor Stephen Phillips of Little Lambs Christian Dayschool threw a fit when his daycare facility was shut down for putting children in danger of COVID. In the letter he sent home to parents, Phillips’ absurdity went full tilt:
If you are not already aware, the entire Covid pandemic has been a hoax to establish an [sic] the anti-Christ Kingdom on earth. It is a direct assault against the Church and will be used to bring about a One World government…
…
… The coming vaccine is like none before it. It literally changes your DNA to protect you from viruses… Clearly it meets all the criteria and requirements of the Mark of the Beast…
In the real world, you get punished for breaking the rules. In the Christian Persecution world, nothing matters. That’s why you can always play martyr and cite Satan to your heart’s delight. Pour one out for the poor children in their care, though.
Whatever’s going on in your life, be grateful you’re not this delusional:
After going through the laundry list of vaccines he does get, Bishop Joseph Brennan encouraged Catholics not to get the “morally unacceptable” COVID vaccine because “it was developed with material from stem cells that were derived from a baby that was aborted.” (That’s not accurate.)
Nothing says “pro-life” like perpetuating a deadly pandemic, amirite?
(Who’s going to tell Brennan about his shingles vaccine?)
Charisma publisher Stephen Strang can’t accept the outcome of the election because, “The media does not pick the winner of any election.”
Technically, he’s right. The media doesn’t “pick” the winner— they hire people who can perform an objective analysis to tell them who the winner will be. But as if to provide fodder for people like us, he followed that comment with, “I believe it’s highly possible, in fact, probable, that Trump will end up winning the 2020 presidential election.”
Who wants to tell him?A Brazilian journalist is reportedly being sued by pastors over a satirical tweet that riffed on the line, “Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.” The columnist, who was making a joke about how the Brazilian government is in bed with religious leaders, is facing over 130 lawsuits by pastors who claim he has threatened their lives.
