Just as you don't ask a woman for sex in an elevator or any other confined space where she can't get away, don't preach in a confined space where people are trapped.
If someone can't preach Allah or Satan, don't preach jesus.
That's not love, that's not devotion, that's not faith. That's entrapment.
I had a college girlfriend who had this thing about elevators - and "accidentally" pressing the "Stop" button. Not the same situation at all, and it was her choice.
"Free Speech!" Bitch, an airplane is not a public space. An airline isn't the government. And white evangelical Christians are the 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 persecuted demographic in the country. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
What's that line? Your rights end where they affect mine? Yes, you might have a right to free speech, but what about my right to sit in my seat in peace, maybe reading a magazine? Or maybe I want to sit in my seat and pray a rosary and your incessant nonsense is making me lose the spot?
Let's just say, there's a time and a place for things and an aeroplane is certainly not the place for prolisetysing and preaching!
The airline has a solid case if she takes them to court- the fact that she was traveling with a dedicated cameraman (showing clear intent), together with the fact that these disruptions are pretty much her entire brand, should put any suit she files in the ground before it ever sees a jury. I'd be very surprised if every major carrier, and probably every minor carrier too, doesn't have language in their terms of service (or whatever the legal description of a ToS agreement is in airline-speak) explicitly prohibiting any non-airline-authorized performance or presentation by any passenger. I'd be equally surprised if they didn't have removal from the flight and possible suspension or revocation of traveling privileges as explicit consequences for same. Oughtta be a slam dunk for the airline's legal team, and Dippy McSchitt here will be standing in for the ball.
I’ve read a fair number of “holy” books in my life. Logic has never occupied a significant place in any of them. And to be fair, that isn’t why believers believe in them anyway.
I was a flight attendant for 14 years. She never should have gotten away with it the first time. It’s disruptive behavior to be shouting on a plane. It’s not the same thing as a baby crying. You can’t just tell a baby to stop. You can tell a grown woman to knock it off. Btw, it’s against FARs to not comply with a flight attendant’s commands. They can and will have the police meet the aircraft at the gate if necessary.
Airport cops love when they get a call to the gate. Half of them on duty show up because they’re bored. It puts some excitement into their day. It’s funny when you open the door and there are 6 cops waiting for one disruptive passenger.
Agreed, the DOJ and COPs usually will try to cooperate when dealing with religions. They do want to be accused of persecuting or discrimination of religions. Simply because the United States puts religions before everything else.
IMO underneath it all, bat shit crazy religions rule the United States.
I saw your hidden comment (seriously, why was it hidden?) - about half the air in a plane is fresh outside air, the other 50% is recycled back to the cabin, but it's scrubbed with HEPA filters first, so any fumes actually wouldn't be pumped back in.
I agree, it wouldn't be fair to trigger anyone with asthma - would cat pee be considered less volatile?
Perfect follow-up for the article posted the other day. I read about this earlier today, and to no one's surprise she started playing the victim, claiming spiritual warfare, and how badly she was being was persecuted. I don't care what she believes or why she believes it. She has the right to her beliefs, but she does not have a right to force those beliefs on others. I hope every airline in the country bans her.
Finally, there’s no excuse for this crap to go on as long as it has. A plane is a business, you can’t go to a store or a restaurant and just preach, they’ll boot you out. Preaching in the terminal is interfering in the safety of the passengers, you can’t hear important announcements when people aren’t being disruptive, there’s no way if some yahoo is preaching. There’s more safety and instructional concerns on the actual planes, there shouldn’t have been a second time with her preaching. That goes double for the jackanapes pulling guitars out and singing hymns.
If airlines can have dress codes, they can police this shit too.
While everything you wrote is absolutely correct, I upvoted mainly for the use of "jackanapes". What a fabulous word! It's rarely seen in print anymore.
Bye, gurl, bye! And a big thank you to Alaska Airlines and its affiliates for standing up for all its passengers and defending them from arrogant loudmouths regardless of what they're ranting about.
What if this was Bob from Bob's Used Cars and Bob stood up in the plane and started proselytizing for 10 minutes about the greatness of his dealership? And then Debbie from Debbie's Ice Cream Parlor stood up and ranted about how her ice cream parlor is the best ice cream in the tri-cities area? I'm going to take a wild guess that this kind of speech would be shut down in 30 seconds. Her ability to even get through a minute of her sermons is christian privilege at its most obvious.
I deconverted after 50yrs of ardent fundyism and have real aversion to any fundy-propaganda now. It triggers me, brings back unhappy memories. I went on my first cruise not long ago and found a gideon bible in my cabin. When my cabin steward came to introduce himself, I handed it him saying I couldn't have it in my cabin for the 10 day period. He was Goan - and probably used to unusual requests from british guests....but wonder what he thought of this elderly brit not wanting that very 'holy book' there. I would be on the verge of a panic attack to have to listen to that obnoxious woman on a plane and would have had no hesitation in insisting that cabin staff stopped her as it was so offensive and trauma-inducing to me. As well as being utter nonsense of course!
Most hotels I stay at now don’t have bibles in drawers. Marriott Hotels are predominantly Mormon, so they have the bible in the drawer. If so, I take them to the front desk saying I find it offensive.
I cannot tolerate proselytizing. These people are bullies trying to shove bullshit down our throats. My husband knows that he would have to restrain me if this woman showed up on a plane that I was on.
FYI until someone tells me a better idea my plan if this happens is to BOO loudly until they stop. Not going to engage or debate with them, just loudly boo.
Give them the Disney downvote and play Disney songs at max volume while they're filming. If they try to post the videos they're likely to catch a DMCA strike from the House of Mouse. Enough strikes and they lose their account entirely.

That too.

Well, there are certainly all types of people. Some happen to like elevators as a great place to ... uh ... meditate.

Sometimes God’s ways aren’t mysterious at all!
Why she was so surprised when her book says in red letters NOT to do that...
...proves these jerks don't actually read it.
They don't dear to. They know people actually reading the babble often end up as atheists. There is no logic at all in their holy book.

In her caee, the police would just add to her persecution grift.

God Bless The USA? 🤔😆🤪
There is no such thing as free speech on a commercial flight
Agreed, speech isn't free commercially. 😆😉
Hoping I never have to hear these cult zealots
Do you think it would make it worse to start over-shouting them with invites to be a satanist and care for the welfare of others?
We discussed ways to get past her ranting in that last article about her. Some good comments.
But who knew it would only take the crew being tired of this crap?
Narrator: Everyone knew.
Is a spray bottle full of ammonia part of that solution? Please say yes!
It would be tough to get past the TSA checkpoint.
All I need is 3 oz. and TSA doesn't open bottles and smell them.
Besides, Jesus is telling me to do it.
And if you could, it might cause asthma attacks in innocent people.

If spiritual warfare isn’t working then perhaps she’ll turn into legal lawfare?

I want her to keep it up so much that she even gets banned by Greyhound and Amtrak.
Also Uber, Lyft and any other rideshares.
Also public transit like buses and subways.
Sidewalks.

Crazy Larry's Used Car Emporium has better deals, and Parker's Parlor has better ice cream.
🚗🍨
Even the scummiest used car dealer is at least selling a product that exists.
Have I got a deal for you!
Do you have a used ice cream truck?
Most odious.

Guess her bible never fell open to 1 Timothy 2:12. How convenient for her.
Matthew 6.5 Jesus said not to preach like she does.
Yup. Mentioned that scripture about 6 minutes ago. 🙂
Yeah, and I'm not gonna look it up.
Does it make me smug that I’m glad she lost this battle? Okay - I’m smug then 😏
Come be smug by me then.
Law enforcement calls that gibberish, "bible babble." Love the looks on their faces. 😅
“Jesus Gibberish” sent me.

I would boo along with you. We could also asked for them to do a "speaking in tongues" performance. That tongues BS is true Jesus Gibberish!
