As it always is with these groups, they begin by drawing their conclusions, then work backwards looking for validation. They have this in common with young earth creationists. Evidently that whole prohibition against lying in the Ten Commandments does not apply to people lying for Jesus. I am beyond sick of the people who believe their religion and/or politics trump science. Thousands perished as a direct result of that mentality during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They have such commonality with YECs because many of them are YECs. It us the lack of critical thinking skills coupled with the appeal to authority (and that authority must toe the line of their dogma) that makes it next to impossible to get through to them.

The thing they value far more than anything Jesus supposedly said, is the authoritarianism of the institutional church they would love to impose on everyone. Mere freedom of religion is never enough for people like this. They are driven to control others.

Here we go again. A bunch of anti-trans idiots who think they can put one over on us decides to do a public thing in the service of their bigotry. Of course, their whole ploy is based on an appeal and argument from authority. The obvious problem is that there is NO BASIS for their claimed "authority."

What needs to happen now is for the American Academy of Pediatrics to land on them with both feet, denouncing the ACP for the bogus organization that it is, while at the same time citing those multiple studies which support trans care.

Ever since the emergence of Donald Trump, there has been a move by some groups (mostly from people with an (R) next to their name!) to using flat-out lies to bolster their position in society. This ACP crap is one of too many such incidents, and it and others like it need to be confronted as soon as they come out of the woodwork.

The people who need to hear the truth never will. Scientific studies are "boring", especially when there are dozens of them that say the same thing. "Fare* and Balanced" won't even bring them up. They'll play the ACP as the few 'brave doctors' fighting the 'political pressure' on the AAP, etc by all these 'radical feminists' who want to chop the penises off little boys. While completely ignoring the actual mutilation of little boys penises that goes on every day in this country. (Once again transboys don't count)

For some reason, it’s never infant genital mutilation they are worried about, despite no scientific evidence whatsoever to recommend it, much evidence against it, and it being always done against the consent and wishes of the child.

Apparently, intentionally harming children for the sake of it is good, rarely unintentionally harming almost adults — can be tried as an adult, can enlist, in some countries can serve during wartime — by giving in to their strong demand for treatment is beyond the pale.

They all 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 it's bullshit. The thinnest veneer of legitimacy is all this kind of propaganda needs. As long as the bullshit wears that lab coat and has that official-looking seal, that will be good enough to give it purchase on the debate stage... because facts don't matter when there's hate to be spread.

Shermer knows it's bullshit. He's a racist, a transphobe, and a credibly-accused rapist, but he's not 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥. The man is capable of doing five seconds of Google-fu to check the organization's bona fides. He's in on the gag, and he's platforming them anyway- because he's a bigot, and facts don't matter when there's hate to be spread.

Musk knows it's bullshit. He's a shallow-as-a-vaguely-damp-sidewalk puddle of narcissistic attention-seeking ego, but he's not stupid. Well, not 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 stupid, anyway. One of his children is trans, for fuck's sake. She disowned his bigoted ass, and he's been getting more and more vocal in his transphobia ever since. He knows it's bullshit, but he's a vindictive bigot and facts don't matter when there's hate to be spread.

The Catholic News Agency knows it's bullshit. I mean, their name should be enough of a giveaway, but anyone who shills for the Roman Catholic Church is up to their neck in playing CYA for people who've raped countless children and murdered whole civilizations- they know bullshit when they see it, because their whole job is to shovel it for some of the worst assholes the Earth has to offer. Facts don't matter; there's hate to be spread.

All of the legislators who've used the American College of Pediatricians' propaganda as an excuse to criminalize being trans know it's bullshit. They've been confronted with the facts countless times, loudly, publicly, by the actual experts, on the record, sitting in the legislature before all their peers and throngs of protestors. They don't care. The facts don't matter. There's hate to be spread.

A lack of exposure to facts and evidence is 𝘯𝘰𝘵 the reason why any of these fuckers are spreading ACP's lies. No public figure has an excuse for ignorance anymore; fact-checking propaganda has never been easier in all of human history, and anyone with a wide enough platform to be a household name certainly has the resources to do so (𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 the hundred-billionaire fucker who owns the media platform the bullshit is spreading on). They're simply choosing to disregard the facts, because they hate trans people, and that hate matters more to them than facts ever will.

Reject vaccine mandates -- What the hell does that have to do with pediatrics?

Link homosexuality with pedophilia -- Not supported by any credible data. Most perps are heterosexual, and just like adult rape, it's not about sex, it's about dominance and power.

Support gay conversion “therapy” -- Utter quackery. Nothing to do with pediatrics. Nothing to do with psychotherapy either.

And it didn't stop with just full nude strip searches. Not only did the ADULT restaurant managers grotesquely fail a Humanity test by COMPLYING - but these young victims didn't even know what their constitutional rights were related to illegal search....... all the victims said the same thing: they were raised to respect and obey authority and adults.

The American public education system has been so repeatedly damaged by the right wing over the decades it's no wonder those young victims didn't know their constitutional rights. I'm not sure if civics is even taught anymore (?). But obedience to authority is front and center. It was when I was in school.

Actually I am not sure if "civics and constitutional rights" per se, ever trumped obedience to authority in public schools, even before the current coordinated unrelenting attack on education, especially as relates to civic and American History. Stanley Milgram's experiments in the 60's was a horrifying example. Maybe this is something embedded in the human psyche; it's certainly not unique to the U.S.

That still does not excuse the actions of the adult restaurant managers. It never occurred to any of them to get an assistant on on other phone to call the real authorities. That people are reaching adulthood and running businesses while encumbered with such staggering stupidity and gullibility is scary.

To see what would happen when I did even the most basic internet research, I checked ACP's Wikipedia page. The very top of the page has an italicized line that reads "This article is about the socially conservative advocacy group. For the professional association of pediatricians, see American Academy of Pediatrics." In view of this, I think it safe to say that the conservatives who are pushing this didn't do their homework.

So I did more digging. There's a list of various medical organizations on the declarations website, and I started poking around looking for them. They seem to all be either incredibly tiny/dubious, very gender-affirming care critical, or have a conservative position on what I'd call a sister issue (i. e. the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine is suing the FDA to prevent the use of the day after pill.) The list on this web page should be treated as a list of organizations willing to misrepresent themselves in order to push a specific agenda of some type as that appears to be exactly what they're doing. The worst part is the page is clearly intended to deliberately deceive the public into believing that these are reputable medical sources that have done in-depth research into the matter, not the advocacy groups they clearly are. At this point, I'm getting out of this nightmare of a rabbit hole, since I like believing that most folks are decent people most of the time; but this post took me maybe a whole 20 minutes total to 'research'.
